Great that you put both versions up here, diggin' the arrangement by Harrison and Jefferson!

When I was in high school, my choir performed this lovely piece of music. At the end of the year, when we had to turn in all of our music, I made sure to leave this partitura in my book-bag. All these years later, I still have it and look at it fondly.

It's a sin and a shame that Nathaniel Dett is not better known. This sacred choral piece is as beautiful as it gets. Very satisfying to sing, too. This is the best interpretation of it I have heard. Thanks for posting.

We're doing Listen To The Lambs tomorrow at Scarborough Presbyterian Church in Briarcliff Manor, NY. It's Good Shepherd Sunday, and this year is the hundredth anniversary of this wonderful anthem. I fell in love with while in college many years ago listening to the Mormon Tabernacle record of it. A magical piece!

I have fond memories of my days as a member of the Howard Univ. Choir. Perfection was demanded and achieved, much as with the choir of this recording. Thanks for posting.

Trivia: Georg Ratzinger, the conductor here, is the sole brother of Benedict XVI, the pope emeritus. Trivia II: The choir's name (Domspatzen) means "Cathedral Sparrows" - thus the CD's cover image. :-)
