Absolutely! Telling is not telling. Yes, Jesus ministered to individuals and didn’t impose a model upon people. You have uniquely dissected the role of a coach. Teaching coaches to coach is an important and imperative gift. Bless you..

Sounds like the coach gave you the tools you need and then you fired him after learning them. Pretty shitty practice, hope you don’t succeed.

I think you missed the point... I paid him to work with him and learn what he taught. He delivered on it and got paid, just as promised. But I realized after learning it what he taught that it wasn't the right fit, so I stopped working with him and found someone who was a better fit and more aligned with my values and the process I wanted to take.

According to a 2013 peer-reviewed article in the International Journal of Academic Research in Business and Social Sciences, the largest causal factor in burnout is “perceived disparity between the demands of the job and the resources (both material and emotional) that an employee has available to him or her.” As someone who’s experienced burnout to a life changing degree, this is almost assuredly the case. Other factors that play a pivotal role in a feeling of burnout is reward structures & recognition, home stress, work frequency, and interpersonal conflict in the workplace. The latter of which could be placed under the umbrella of a “perceived load” of a worker, but is unique enough to warrant mention. I not only have run a business & been an employee of several, I’m significantly well-read on the literature surrounding this topic in both the business and psychology fields. The phenomenon you’re describing is a misalignment with greater purpose that generally leads to feelings of hopelessness, issues with self confidence, and in severe cases depression. This can come both as a result of moving in a direction antithetical to a self-assigned purpose as well as never having a purpose in the first place. I would encourage taking some time to peruse the literature on a subject as well as writing your thoughts down before ejecting them into the ether. It will not only improve the quality of your content but will provide better value to the viewer.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Interestingly enough, the disparity between demand of the job and resources (including emotional) does have to do with misalignment and stress. If you're doing something that you don't enjoy and your energy (emotional resources) is being overworked and overused because of it, it most definitely can lead to burnout, which in Merriam-Webster defines as the exhaustion of physical or emotional strength or motivation usually as a result of prolonged stress or frustration. Misalignment can lead to stress and frustration that when prolonged can and does lead to burnout. Thanks for sharing with me - I appreciate it!

Just a quick clarification; Perception IS, actually, 100% reality. It is however dependent on point of view/perspective. In your anecdote, your perspective changed and then your reality, eating the pepper, changed. Marketing, negotiation, and sales are all about shifting the client's perspectives. Cheers!🍻

Thanks for commenting! But perception is not reality. You might THINK that something happened based on how you were viewing it, and that may change how you behave, but that doesn't actually mean that what you THINK happened was what actually happened. In reality, only one thing happened and is true, despite the various perceptions and perspectives on it.

Thanks for the feedback. Either 1, I'm off on what I'm talking about and it didn't provide any value, or 2, you're not my ideal client (or 3, maybe both or are true). It seems like you're more focused on entertainment than education, which is fine. That just tells me that in this case, option 2 is more likely. I'll need more feedback from people in my target market on if this is valuable or not, which is exactly the point of the entire video. Appreciate the comment!
