Excellent, excellent video. Incredible detail and specificity. I got a chance to ride in a B-17 and use the Norden bombsight over my city -- a truly memorable and eerie experience. Thanks for this, I'm sure I'll watch it again.

Warthunder B-17 climbs only 6 meters, and since it has 4 engines, it reaches a maximum speed of 500 km when diving. Warthunder, B-17, Yer-2, Pe-8 dies very easily. These planes are not enjoyable. Warthunder german ju-288, Swedish B18B, T18B, top speed 700km. can escape from hunters Russian tu-2, pe-2, German he-177, do-217 have a speed of around 650km.

There are 3 pilots who shot down 4 B-17 monohulls. fw-190 has around 680-800 20mm artillery shells. Egon Mayer is trying to shoot B-17 pilots from the front of his FW-190. He shoots down 4 B-17s on that mission. Hugo Frey FW-190 attacks damaged B-17s. shoots down 4 B-17s in one mission.

Like your work Thanks. Certainly puts thd "germans were better " to rest. Interesting were the engine variants in the Shermans . The beaut Ford ..it had gear driven cams even. Sort of vaguely based on the Merlin. Not thd design as such but the design exchange..

A fantastic video. One more thing that couod have been added is that the gear was also designed to be used as dive breaks for close air support or similiar manouvers.

The 0:05 B17 “backbone” of European campaign??.. really??? 1. **Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress**: Around 4,750 B-17s were used by the Eighth Air Force in the European Theater. 2. **Consolidated B-24 Liberator**: The most numerous, with around 6,000 B-24s operating in the European Theater. 3. **Avro Lancaster**: The Royal Air Force (RAF) used approximately 7,377 Lancaster bombers, with the majority serving in Europe. 4. **Handley Page Halifax**: The RAF operated around 6,176 Halifax bombers, primarily in the European Theater. 5. **Short Stirling**: The RAF used around 2,383 Short Stirling bombers in Europe. These bombers formed the backbone of the Allied strategic bombing campaign.

The defeat of Nazi Germany was assured on the Eastern Front. The Red Army crushed 3/4 of the German forces. More than 607 divisions. Germany's total losses were 13.4 million. The Red Army killed 10 million Nazis.

WE had an elder at church that was an aeronautical engineer that designed the waist gun mount. He ended up an officer for a platoon during the "Battle of the Bulge" Lost his LT and was struck in the back. Turned out that he was hit in the back He was awarded a purple heart. His wounds? Shrapnel from his canteen hit from an SS rifle man.

When I was seven years old I watched probably my very first anime series in the mid 1980's where the protagonists pilot a giant mid-air-assembled robot-mecha, and it ran for 40 episodes. On its very second episode alone, the mecha's just about under the mercy of its even-sized monster-mecha opponent when, almost out of nowhere, the mother of three of its protagonists in peril flew a plane and wedged itself between the monster-mecha and the robot, killing her instantly upon explosion whilst separating the two, just enough for the robot-mecha to pulverize the monster in endless rage and fury. At a young age I may have already seen on TV the glorious side of death out of pure sacrifice and how it may have made a profound impression on me; that's when I realized the wildly huge difference between Japanese anime and western cartoons not just with style, but with storytelling! Looking back, it now may have dawned on me how the Japanese, at least at that time in popular media and cartoons, have probably embraced the lighter side of death as a means to a life-giving end.

A great presentation, however one thing that is incorrect is that with a sudden opening of the throttle, my experience was that the plane wanted to go into a spin to the left, not the right as shown in the takeoff/aborted landing sequence of the presentation because not only high torque, but also because of the propeller slipstream and asymmetric thrust, which all combined to roll and yaw the aircraft to port and away from the clockwise propeller rotation.

somebody has been listening to actual flight recordings, when the pilot calls out to the bombardier you have control of the plane he calls out 8:44 "bombardier it's your fort", to all flight/ground crews this plane had only one name "the fort", might be "the goddam fort" or "you beautiful fort" but ""fort" it was..................

Incredible video about an incredible airplane! The men are the heart and soul of the plane, thankfully, they had one that was built to give them the best chance possible of getting home. Unfortunately, pressing their luck by having to do this 25 times put the odds of survival pretty far away.
