you dont need to add water?
@GARDENWORKSCanada
@GARDENWORKSCanada 28 күн бұрын
Good question! After assembly is complete, you'll want to add enough water so it barely touches the base of the bulbs. Once the roots start to form, add enough water to cover the roots, but not touching the base of the bulb. This watering information is noted on the instruction sheet included with each of our Paperwhite Kits during the Holiday season. Thank you.

Hi Scott - I am in BC. We want to plant a number of Strawberry Shortcake Hydrangeas now in end of Oct. Is it too late to plant them now? We haven't had our first frost yet...
@GARDENWORKSCanada
@GARDENWORKSCanada 3 ай бұрын
Hello, our plant experts had this to say: "It's not too late. Anything that drops its leaves will (likely) be hardy enough to plant and the ground will be warm from summer, so good root growth." We hope this information is helpful. Thank you for watching!

I can confirm, I repotted my gigantic monstera deliciosa this summer in a pot with no holes (70 cm high), but I filled it for 1/2 with drenage material. It seems to be fine (2 months have passed), yet I still feel very worried about it and feel like it can't get enough oxygen 😢 But repotting a plant several times is a stress for a plant, so I just hope it'll be alright and make sure to supply it with the perfect amount of water (neither less nor more than it needs)

I am in Toronto. Should I leave the container in the balcony outside or do I need to keep it in door? Will the freeze in the winter damage it because it is in a container and not in the ground?
@GARDENWORKSCanada
@GARDENWORKSCanada 3 ай бұрын
Thank you for your inquiry, GARDENWORKS is based in British Columbia and all gardening advice/info is respective to our region. However, we might advise planting the cloves 4-6 weeks before the soil freezes, and mulch at least 10-15 CM to minimize harm from freeze-thaw cycles over the winter. A larger container will freeze less easily than a smaller one. We highly advise speaking to a local, Toronto based garden centre for more details. Thank you again.

which month do we plant? If we harvest in august?
@GARDENWORKSCanada
@GARDENWORKSCanada 10 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question - noting that our gardening knowledge is based in the lower mainland area of British Columbia, we typically advise garlic planting between mid October to November (though colder weather may push these dates ahead), with a planned harvest of mid-July. We hope this is helpful.

Sir to gorw in container it's that good or wrong idea to increase the potential size gradually or better to choose a bigger container?
@GARDENWORKSCanada

Thank you for your question - it is generally a good idea to select a larger container first to reduce the amount of times your need to re-pot.

Thank you for the question - in terms of B.C.'s Lower Mainland & Vancouver Island, most potted blueberries are fairly winter hardy to the region. We may advise moving them under-cover and close to a building wall in times of very low temperatures. Thank you again.

@@GARDENWORKSCanadamine are on a covered patio. Would it be ok to bring them indoors during winter in Quebec or would it be better to bring them in a unheated shed. Thanks!
@GARDENWORKSCanada
@GARDENWORKSCanada Жыл бұрын
Hey there@@hugomercier1593 , our experts have the following to say: " I would do the unheated shed. Blueberries are fairly hardy (we leave them outside fully exposed to the weather in Lower Mainland, B.C.). Having said that...there are hardier ones for the north (they tend to have names like Northcountry, Northlands...also Polaris, Patriot) vs B.C.'s coastal climate. Those hardier ones will winter better in their climate. Indoors would be a problem in that they do need a dormant period (cold, drop leaves...). Might depend how cold the shed gets. Anything that keeps the roots from being too cold will likely help (ie, being in the ground)." We hope this is helpful. Thank you!

Do these ingredients attract rats as well as birds? I've only been using suet with a pepper base for the rat reason.
@GARDENWORKSCanada
@GARDENWORKSCanada 2 жыл бұрын
Hot Pepper suet or Hot Pepper-treated seed. Birds will not be affected by these foods, but they are highly distasteful to mammals. Hot Pepper suet cakes, cylinders, balls, and nuggets are easily substituted for other flavors, while you can also offer loose seed in a hot pepper form.
