First Hellraiser very good ... the rest ... Meh .... I wish they could have not went the cheesy route with the Cenobites , its almost like they went and followed Jason and Kruger later movies . I remember seeing the CD shooting Cenobite as a kid , and I just rolled my eyes . The Pinhead character is awesome , but they never really knew what to do with him .... so much potential .
@daverwatkins12 күн бұрын
Good points. Agreed that there was a lot of potential in the Pinhead character that was never realized fully.

What do you mean "if you can't handle black & white movies"! Some of the greatest movies in the history of film, were filmed in black & white such as Raging Bull, Schindler's List, The Elephant Man just to name of few. If anybody can't watch a "black & white" movie just because it's in black & white, then they're not real movie buffs.
@daverwatkins12 күн бұрын
I agree and dig Black and White films myself. It's just a warning in case some people can't wrap their heads around it. 🤣

Coincidentally I watched Zombie today (although not the 4k). Lewton's films always have memorable atmospheric scenes. I haven't yet seen The Seventh Victim, but based on your review, it might not be at the top of my 'too see' list.

@@steve4films what did you think about the Zombie film? I thought the Seventh Victim was the better of the two.
@steve4films14 күн бұрын
@@daverwatkins Zombie is not my favourite film of all time but I think Lewton always does the best with what he has. He creates such memorable scenes and images. I loved the atmosphere of the island and the isolation of the house.

The director's cut is a better film than the theatrical release. The scene on the train is one of my favorites. Gypsy has always been a slur. The majority of the world just didn't care until about ten years ago. The world is growing and trying to be better. Too many people act like using the word "Roma" is such a chore. It's not. If you chose to use "Romani" you chose to be part of a better world for everyone.
@daverwatkinsАй бұрын
The scene on the train was quite nice, Max Von Sydow was terrific, would have liked to of seen more of his character. I didn't know the alternative term Roma or Romani until I looked it up after I realized I didn't know how to describe the characters without calling them Gypsies.
