Thank you. Resetting my grandmother's clock now. Any tips for one very similar to the one you're showing, but the ticker stops pendulating after about 30 seconds?

The clock most likely needs servicing however it could be that it is out of beat. This means the pendulum isn't swinging the same distance left and right of center. You can pivot the clock on the screw when hanging on the wall to adjust this. Best to listen to the tick tock sound as the pendulum swings and then slightly move the clock left and right listening to the tick tock sound and then stop moving when it sounds even

What are the length of the shafts for a high toque movement. I have a 3/4 inch thick piece of wood and it's 18 inches in diameter. Do you have a high torque movement with a shaft that would fit that?

My Sterling and Noble chime/pendulum clock with the Takane movement stopped working, but I can't find another movement. The chime and pendulum are fine; I just need the 1.5v movement with wire connections for the chime, but can't locate one without having to buy all the other parts together - movement, pendulum, chime box, and speaker. I just need the 1.5v movement with the wire connections. Any ideas? Thanks.

My grandfather clock that I inherited from my grandfather weighs over 300 pounds. Maybe around 400 pounds. The chimes are huge and many of them. Just one of them weighs around 80 pounds. It looks like a Westminster full of chimes. They reach close to the bottom of the clock. Two rows of them too

I had a cuckoo clock that ran but didn‘t tell time. Everything else worked. I brought it to a repair shop. When I got it back it still didn‘t tell time and now the door to the cuckoo is stuck open. Also, neither the hour or minute hands will turn with finger pressure. What is wrong?

If you can't unscrew the hand nut with a pair of pliers then you can always try to pull it off with the hand nut still attached and then replace both the movement and hands. At least this way you can remove the movement from your clock, even if you do damage the hands in the process.

I had two clocks to change, a Mexican souvenir ($5) and an antique railway. The Mexican one was very simple and now I faced the larger glass-enclosed monster. after not working for months, when I turned the clock to undo the face IT WAS WORKING! I guess I scared the life back into it. thanks for the instructions.

These older movements are no longer available so you need to replace the entire movement including the bird motor. The case may need modifying as the newer movements, cuckoo doors etc are a different shape and size

Hi my name is Roger, our clock was my wife's parents clock she inherited when they died but the leader rod for the pendulum fell off and we can't reinstall we don't know if it is missing some part or not. You will need to get a movement make and number which also generally has the pendulum length. Might be easiest to engage a clockmaker to assist you with this

The clock struck the wrong amount of times, when it struck 12 o’clock. It struck the correct amount of times like 11 times, when it struck 11 o’clock but for 12 o’clock it struck 9 times. Strange!
