This song always felt very melancholic, like if it was the freedom of living. The music you hear before your last moments, lookingback on your life full of hardship and woes. It's similar to "My Way" by Frank Sinatra in my opinion.

@@BrasilHistoriador not certainly, it's an art trend that's been around for a while which their/someone's character asks "Are we friends on every universe?" and the partner/family/friends/etc answers either "I don't know", " Maybe", "I hope not", "i hope so". But if there's a line in evangelion that sounds similar i don't know, but if you ever watch and there's a similar mind, then i'd think it's a nice coincidence (or maybe either someone was truly inspired and decided to make that) :] !
