Since the DIL is the one who found the baseball bat in the shed, this means the evidence of the bat with her blood on it had possibly been compromised as evidence. Perhaps it could still be used as evidence, perhaps not, depending on what other evidence there was. It should have been the police searching the property, not the DIL. This was a major mistake in the storyline. Other than that, it was a good story. I just wish the writers would think about these things before going ahead with the story ending.
