I tell the toothless critters here in AZ that the best timber operators/producers come from the upper midwest and upper east USA areas. These people down here are so dumb it takes them two hours to watch the show 60 minutes. Getting 24 bucks a ton here for their wood roadside and they cant make it. I mean..they got them stamping the wood, painting the wood, weighing the wood and stuff that went out in the late 1800s up there. I spent 50 plus years logginf in the UP and northern Wis and nobody can compare to the quality and business mind of those from up there. BTW-the average stumpge price here for their pine? Buck fifty to two fifty a ton. Thats for wood that averages 12 to 17 inches chest high.
