The sound of the Allen organ is simply the best! The prelude arranged by Dan Miller is so creative and fulfilling every organist should listen to Dan play his own arrangements its wonderful to hear what the arrangers original style and intentions are.

If you would make a CD I would buy it. Then I could listen all day without commercial interruption.

I'm an Anglican, but I needed some comforting music after my husband died. I happened on this and I've listened at least 8-10 times! You are so joyful, so harmonious, and the songs are just SO uplifting! I'll listen twice more before I go to bed! Thank you so much!!!!

When and how does the choir get communion?
@FirstMethodistHoustonАй бұрын
Great question! After the service Pastor Lance meets the choir as they exit the loft and serves them communion.

Great sermon. We must love as Christ loves us. Matthew 10 14 : Many will reject the Gospel. Shake the dust off your feet and move on. Evil abounds in this world. Not on board with all you said regarding the profanity of the opening of the Olympics ceremony. Agree: don’t punish the athletes.

As an English Methodist who watchs your services could you tell me what the piece of music was played at the beginning that had the tune to God save the King in it? Also I wondered Keli Estes has been missing from your wonderful choir for quite a while

This is Sunday evening May 30 from WV girl to another Pastor Ann. I was privileged to be a member of First Methodist Houston in the early 90’s and served on the music staff. You were such a blessing Pastor Ann as I was new to Houston and the church. Thank you for making me and my family feel welcome. Blessings on you in this next chapter called “retirement “, it’s a great place to be 🙏🏻♥️

great sermon series. and i appreciate that great treatment of Come Christians Join to Sing. You people sing out boldly. We in CA are awash in limp, trite often heterodox "praise" choruses so hearing good hymns is such a blessing.

Halloween ending to an Advent Hymn: 😂. Love your sermons on “The Apostle’s Creed”. This is a fantastic subject for a message series.

To be clear in those times the world would've not listen to a woman preaching nothing that was a job for a man, if you really think even before Jesus all the apostles were men not one woman was one of them another thing all the Angels involved in the Bible were also males, why there were not women? only God has knows. I think that after Eva did what she did things changed for females but is me thinking.

I left the Methodist Church when I was a teenager as well as my siblings because of a supernatural occurrence that could not be explained or even believed by the Methodist pastor. I found the Methodists I knew were good people with good manners, good covered dishes, and choir specials but nothing about grace, prayer, or anything supernatural, like a really nice social club.

The Methodist churches seem to be dry and outdated. Some of the baptist churches are like that but some are updated and fun…
@francanarsie4 ай бұрын
I know, "updated and fun" are important parts of Christianity today in the United States, being more entertained than going to worship God.

Grace and peace from Brazil to this loved choir and church! Soli Deo Gloria!
@bobsnyder37635 ай бұрын
I can answer that. As none of us start out believing what the Bible says, one person is no different than any other. Methodists continue that though to believe that perpetual and intentional disbelief is okay. A true Christian is Bible believing and moves beyond sipping milk, but to be a Methodist, believing the Bible is entirely optional.
