Wrong. You fail the weld test. The gap was correct, but you never stack "tacks" for a root pass, nor any pass at all. Not ever. If you can't weld that gap in a single pass, then you should keep practicing until you can. But dont ever try to sit there and act like you are teaching the correct methods, when you are not only showing the incorrect methods that will cause others to fail, but to get fired as well. This alone tells me that you are wholeheartedly and completely unqualified to try to teach, let alone act as if you are a welder. You are what is known as a weld-r. Stop before you get to far ahead.
