hey man, I found this video, printed your STL file, and now I have a great smokestack for my freighter for pennies. Thank you SO much

Great looking installation. You really got the wiring cleaned up.

I have made smoke generators with ionizers too but the problem is that the water ends up accumulating on the top of the membrane and they stop working :(
@tiver213 күн бұрын
Water vapor that cannot escape collects inside and accumulates on the membrane, causing the machine to stop working in a short period of time. If you use it briefly, you can prevent interruptions, right?

The solution with switching the direction of motor rotation by switches and servo is certainly workable, but I would recommend a microcontroller and H-bridge. It is more reliable, takes less space and allows you to create more flexible control systems. The most convenient is to use Arduino, it is inexpensive and easy to learn. If you want to get started, I'd be happy to help!

This boat is planning to run on the pond. Going out is difficult because you have to coordinate schedules with a visiting caregiver. This is why I haven't been able to drive outdoors until now.

Hello, I am long time viewer. This is a great channel, combines many of my interests into one. I do have a suggestion about your printer. It looks like you are having a lot of Z banding, also called Z wobble. It is mostly caused by your z-axis rods not being straight or aligned to the stepper motors. Several good videos on KZbin show how to identify this problem and fix it.
@tiver2110 күн бұрын
I watched the Z wobble solution video and improved it, but this is what it looks like now. I'll have to look for more videos. thank you

Can you reduce the throttle curve when you engage the bow thruster as to closely match the speed of the bow thruster, and then put throttle curve back to normal when bow thruster is off?

If you could find a way to increase the steering resolution that would probably help with the control issue. Only down side is you lose the ability to reverse by turning the thrusters, which can be solved by adding a reverse in the throttle.

You need differential throttle, so that you can make one wheel go ahead, and the other in reverse. Or with the nozzles, you could do differential steering. Or both, which would make it very maneuverable.
@jimbrust48620 күн бұрын
Super progress. The modifications to the thrusters should make maintenance a lot simpler for you.

How is the seal maintained after the hole is cut in the plunger? Amd does it degrade over time?
@bill0118Ай бұрын
You are a good model builder indeed, but the principle of azimutal thrusters is that they can be steered independently. If you always steer them at the same angle, you loose all the benefit of the system (i.e. side moving, rotate the ship on her own length, etc..)
@tiver21Ай бұрын
You are right. However, since the purpose of this boat was to enjoy it in a small pond, the purpose from the beginning was to rotate 360 degrees in place.

@jimbrust486Ай бұрын
Great progress. Really like watching your design process. Looks like your filament needs to be dried or your retraction settings are too small, either will result in all the stringing you are getting. Another suggestion, is to use a raft for printing things with small areas on the print bed and are also tall. I know, makes a mess to deal with cleaning up the raft mess, but at least the part sticks to the bed for the whole print time.
