My experience with this is also really personal, I was taught through church that pride sent me to hell, but I didn’t know what counted as pride, so every time I caught myself even slightly loving myself, I’d beat up on myself in response because I thought I had to hate myself to make it to heaven, I still struggle with that, I feel intensely guilty when I’m proud and I find so many reasons to hate myself, this episode showing that I’m not the only one to intentionally torment myself (actual SH aside, that’s pretty much relegated to a coping mechanism now) is really comforting

I never realized how much I heavily relate to Luna. She's always been my favorite of the characters, I love her design her voice and her personality and wish she had more screen time. But now I realize she's a lot like myself. I have been struggling a lot lately with believing I'm a bad person who doesn't deserve anything positive, despite not committing anything that would warrant such a punishment (I am considering getting checked out for imposter syndrome which matches these symptoms pretty well,but could be something else) My point is,girly needs a hug.

There are few episodes of MLP that actually moves me to tears. This is one of the number 1 episodes that make me cry and I’m 33…. HOW IS THIS A KIDS SHOW!?

I was rather happy about the canon confirmation of CheesePie, and I also like SciTwiShimmer tbh. I was more of RariJack than AppleDash, but both are good so the second being canon in the FiM epilogue didn't really bother me. Also, I love platonic Flutterchord.

AppleDash for me was because when I was 12 years old I wasn't looking at fiction like anyone could be shipped with anyone, I looked at it searching for patterns of attraction. Based on that I concluded that Applejack and Rainbow Dash are lesbians while Twilight, Rarity, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie are all straight.

I personally prefer Appledash but I have a “rare” ship (I haven’t seen it before) …Raripink! I think it’s up to the viewer to decide wether any ship is canon or not, it’s always boring when creators feel the need to make everyone have the same view on a character as they do. It’s kinda like how good professional writers try to keep the visual descriptions of their characters vague, instead focusing on the personalities and leaving some room for the imagination of those who’re gonna enjoy it most.

Appledash shouldn't be canon because it isn't natural. It's just not right.
