The first and only thing I had ever heard of Judas Priest back in the 70's was the album Sad Wings of Destiny and I liked it so much I went to the record store to buy it but when I got there I noticed they had another album called Rocka Rolla, not knowing if it would be good or not but thought if it is anything like Sad Wings I would like it so I bought them both...to say the very least I was very pleasantly surprised and satisfied.

Eric Carr kicked so much ass on the drums. And with a drum set as big as his, that's not an easy thing to do! RIP Fox!

I had been a Sabbath fan since 71 with master of Reality. They are metal gods, true metal gods. I came to the priest party in 78 with killing machine. Just like in 71 when I had been literally blown out of my socks I got blown out of them again. Since 78 I have 2 metal bands I hold dear. Sabbath and priest Coincidentally , they just happen to be the 2 greatest metal bands that ever walked this earth.

If Judas Priest is pop music then mentalica, black Sabbath, and Mega death are disco. And motor head is polka.

Like the way you put it. Halford was singing songs written by Atkins & had to adapt to that style. Tipton just came aboard & was playing to what music Ken wrote. Really liked this album, as it was a Genesis as to how the later "Painkiller Band" actually started.

Rodger Bain was the producer of the Rocka Rolla album. He made a lot of decisions on the making of the album the band did not agree. He left 3 fan favorites off like Genocide, The Ripper, and Tyrant, and this song Caviar and Meths was a 10 minute song and he cut it down to a 2 minute instrumental. Bain produced Black Sabbaths first 3 albums is why they picked him up.
