for the money I think SLT2 is unacceptable. Seems to be same power and integrated electronics as losi mini tI was unhappy with that set up as well because it's not just a matter of the radio and the receiver because then you have to do the speed control also to the integrated ones. no problem if you like spectrum radios or whatever and I agree it's made really well mechanically. I think it's high time that manufacturers start including no radio and receiver as an option and do away with the integrated ESC radio. I'm gonna pass on this one although it's a hard one to pass on. that said I definitely heard you when you said it's the best little RC you've driven. You certainly have the credibility

While you and I agree on having kits again so we can use our own equipment, the market says the oposite. Now days people send their items in for repair, and prefer premade, RTR. Because of that its not feasible to offer kits as there isn't enough of us to buy them.

Did you locktite all the screws when you first bought it ? And if no did your screws come out? Because I hear everyone complaining about that

Yeah I did the screws. It's very common for gas rigs to vibrate apart and need to keep an eye on them even with lictite

This video is old so I doubt I'll get a reply but how did you set up the failsafe on the rc4gs? If the controller disconnects will the brakes on the buggy apply??

@@loganware5525 there are fail safe settings yes. Typically default is full break on loss of signal

@GussCustomCreations thank you for replying. I don't have the same reciever as you in the video. I have a r6f v4 on hand currently. Im hoping itll be able to activate failsafe on disconnect. my rovan randomly disconnects and the failsafe doesn't kick in immediately with the electronics that it came with. It takes a concerning amount of time before deciding to apply brake and it's ran away on me 3 times

I have an lmt , the steering just won’t hold, how is your steering setup? I used lock tight on the servo and it still won’t hold?

@@cslrclorne mine is stock steering. I've never had a problem with the steering but I run a different spektrum servo than stock as this was the roller

Its fairly easy if you follow the schematic for the Rampage MTE on the Redcat Racing webpage. That is the parts I used and converted to use, but I am changing my current set up for better gearing options so stay tuned for that video.

En lipo 2s ha sido duradero. Con la lipo 3s debes tener cuidado o romperás los pasadores del semieje en la junta homocinética.

Have you replaced the differential covers with aluminum ones? I've seen some opinions that the bearings are falling apart and damaging the differential cover, but I noticed that only people with the electric version have this problem. I ordered my model, I can't wait for it to arrive.

@@keyriekalyan9273 if it's not starting you probably live in a higher elevation or hot Temp. They are set rich from the factory for break in sea level 70 degrees. Sounds like you need to lean the mixture screws

Why did you decide to swap it to electric? Were you having problems with the gas motor or just personal preference? The reason I ask is I was thinking about buying this truck from redcat but got kinda scared away by the reviews. I noticed that based on your videos, you've had this truck for about 2 years. What's your experience with it?

The truck worked perfectly fine for 2 years and about 4 gallons of gas. The only thing I don't like about it is its break system is not the best as most 1/5th scale have 2 brakes this only has one. And the other was the throttle linkage, its flimsy and will warp and cause the engine to rev slightly when you hit the breaks. The other issues were pretty typical for a gas rig mainly screws vibrating out, but I have yet to break a single part. The reason for converting it to electric is I like it so much I wanted one of each and I like to build stuff lol. I'm in the process of grabbing another one and will be putting a bigger engine in it with the buggy gear ratio.

As of 5/6/24 as I'm writing this "Fearless RC" (aka Rovan RC) has this baja with a 30cc engine, radio, ready to run on sale for $450 delivered! So many options for these, I own 4!
