I have the same fan. Does the air quality sensor turn it on via IR or just giving it power?
@gritautomationАй бұрын
Hi! The GRIT Air Quality device uses the Powermatic's RF signal to send 'on' commands.

@@gritautomation the fan has different power settings. Regular, medium, and high. Can it turn it on to high? Id prefer for it to always be on high mode.
@gritautomationАй бұрын
@@LostBoyLA Yes, you can set up the activation fan speed as part of the configuration.

@@gritautomation Thats cool. Does it have ranges as well? For example lets say if the particulates are less that X amount then I want it to be low but if its over then I want it to be high?

Also, I don't have any blast gates (yet) in my system. However I would like it to start going if I turn on a specific tool. That being said, do the grit triggers require a blast gate to work?

My new Grit system is arriving tomorrow. Can’t wait! Jaclyn and team were great to work with. Highly recommend.

I received my order from Grit a few weeks ago and just starting setting it up yesterday. The blast gate servos work flawlessly. Being able to fine tune how far the blast gates open and close is a nice feature. The App used the calibrate the gates is very easy to navigate and use. I went with Grit after upgrading all my shop ductwork to Norfab. I removed all my iVac units and replaced them with the Grit system. There is no comparison. Grit is a way better setup!

The gate may need some delay time. From the video, when you turn off the any of these machines, the shutdown immediately. Is it should be have a 5 or 10 sec delay time.
@gritautomation7 ай бұрын
Hi! The ability to delay the closing of gates after a tool is turned off is a configurable setting in the GRIT App.

For me the air quality monitor and automatic on/off depending on the tool I’m using is one of the biggest game changers. Air quality is something we should all think about in our shops, but now we don’t have to!

Really cool for a pro shop but a big outlay for a hobbiest.

I’m a hobbyist and I’m integrating GRIT into my shop. The ability to lock all my tools for a little over 1000 is absurdly low insurance and piece of mind, notwithstanding the ability to automate DC and gates.

I am very intrigued with this system....it would save a ton of time opening and closing blast gates.

Why not just turn the breaker off?
@gritautomation Жыл бұрын
It's funny you say that! That was actually our first solution after the near-miss. The issue with that solution was that originally there were other things on the same circuit. Then, I kept forgetting to actually turn it off when I wasn't out there in my shop. That's the beauty of automation; it takes that mental load off my plate!
@steinbierz Жыл бұрын
@@gritautomation Also, it typically is not recommended that you use a circuit breaker routinely as a disconnect. It will certainly work but it decreases the life of the breaker. I have disconnects in line between my breakers and my equipment. I primarily put these in so that when I left the shop for the day, I could flip off all of the disconnects in case we had a bad lightning storm come through during the night or when we were away from home. I do wish though that I would have found a more automated way to hit a switch by my door that would turn off all of the disconnects instead of having to walk around to each machine.
