Exactly! For the music I make, I usually don't go "I'm gonna make this genre!". I've tried to do it, but it rarely works for me. I usually get bored and de-motivated, because I'm limiting myself and my intuitive creativity. That's not how I wanna make music. I want to feel free. So usually it ends up being something experimental. I haven't made anything yet, that I'd consider trance. I have a few techno and house tracks released, but even those are quite experimental to a degree. I do tend to be focusing mostly on the sfx, textural and atmospheric aspect. And I do gravitate towards dubby fx, weird sounds and liquid lfo squelches. Kind of stepping into something psychedelic, without actually doing any psy trance. Also have a few tracks that have a bit of trancy elements in them, but without the psychedelic/abstract sounds. Or maybe I have one or two 🤔🤷♂️ Boundaries don't really exist as such. Only experiencially. And I find it really interesting, when something sits somewhere in between 2 or several other areas, but where it's difficult to pinpoint or define where it belongs. That's also how I've always been as a person my whole life. Even though I've tried to fit in somewhere back in my younger days (I'm 32), I was never able to do it, because it didn't feel natural to me. This is also why I've decided to just release everything I make under one name, even though I have been and still do get tempted to create an alias or two. It kinda feels wrong/un-natural for me to do. Not that I have anything at all against other artists using aliases. It's just a personal preference. And I could imagine that it would also give a sense of freedom to some who do use aliases 😊

I'm from Denmark, and I was a bit into psy trance (but mostly cheesy euro trance 😆) in the mid to late 00's. But haven't really been much into trance since then. Only a few tracks here and there that have cought me. But I was at the danish festival 'Distortion' (Ø) last friday, were the best music a couple friends and I could find this year, was at a small forest psy trance "stage" slightly hidden between some trees. And that was a quite fun and vibey experience. Not unfamiliar with the type of sounds of course 😊 But I didn't know that forest is a very scandinavian thing. Like 'Parvati Records' (which I just discovered) for instance, which is a danish label. Quite interesting actually 🤔 And interesting what you said about the flow of the music, because it actually reminded me a lot of being at a small underground techno party 😄
