Assessment of highest value is forensically test the paint colors for pigments purity and origin. Date the pigment back to origin of location he was located when creating piece. In addition one of a kind. In addition class size enters commercial installation as well as grand estates gallery pieces. Intrinsic value is very high as artist theories of freedom expression. Using air, water, pigment from earth.

The first time life was captured as it was. Not painted to the best of someone's skill or imagination. This was LIFE. What the world looked like...I always find this so fascinating. Wild how this isn't even 1000 years old, it's just under 300 years (at the time of this comment).

As to the restoring of the paint, how would anyone know if you didn’t quite get it perfect? But I imagine the real difficulty is finding 1950’s house paint.

I know this is an old video. But I’m happy to say I am getting wonderful results in a gas kiln using a ilite clay ! Firing techniques are very important for success and the people in this lecture are spot on except max temp can range depending on clay source. But from my tests, K rich iron rich clays are important for best results. Cheers
