I'm guessing the canon ending was to tie into the cancelled third game that would see Dan fight the Palethorn monster and be betrayed by Keeya. The comic story is a bit better than what they had planned for the game.

Lol I'm not sure the engine can handle that. Ever seen Time of the Assassins for PSP? Even on stronger handheld tech at the time, third person games were quite rough.

@JoesGuy what you mean? The GTA games for NDS which had the same shitty camera than this game were modded by a fan so they have the typical GTA/Tenchu camera

@@koken2372 That mod's a bit finicky, though. Not to mention the fact that this game's engine differs from the one Chinatown Wars used. It's not a one-size-fits-all situation when it comes to modding.

@@JoesGuy well you don't know for sure if it could work or could be done on Tenchu Dark Secret right? Even if it wouldn't look 100 good (which I think it would as the cutscenes on the game have that camera and use the same engine) it would be 100% better than with the awful camera that comes by default.

May be far late to the party, but I see the ending as such: Three brothers (Dropsy on the right, his ‘father’ on the left and a long lost brother in the center) live their lives as the youngest and most successful is resentful of Dropsy, the brother with only happiness in his heart. Being aliens, he wanted to see himself as superior or greater to Dropsy and get back home to his home planet to rule with anger and wealth. So the brother makes it his mission to hurt Dropsy… but Dropsy has made so many friends that no one can hate him and they refuse to let Dropsy get hurt. So the brother activates a portal to their home world and tries to stake his claim amongst his people… only to find there’s no one there, anymore. Just a lone gold statue of who I think is their father. The brother is alone… his dream shattered as he has nothing left… except Dropsy, who follows him and, despite everything that’s been done to him, offers love to his brother. His brother, with nothing but hate in his heart, shoots Dropsy… a final act that he thinks will be his best joke at Dropsy, but then a light shines down upon our loving clown and takes Dropsy away. The broken brother is now now left alone on a dead planet, buried alive by his hatred. Dropsy, however, is healed from his wound and finds that his race may not exist on their home planet anymore, but they built a new home among the stars, maybe looking at the brothers to see if any would be worthy of being king… and Dropsy was that one. A king who would give nothing but love to his people and sacrifice himself to do so. He is welcomed to the throne, alongside his other-father-brother, but before he accepts, he hugs his long lost mother, demonstrating his compassion above his rule before the story ends. It’s a crazy story, but somehow one filled with deep emotions when you look into it. It was a great story, tho.

You don't actually need the camera to solve the puzzle, if you input the light sequence as I have. It's only used to actually reveal the solution, and is found on an office desk on the second floor of Nowhere.

Actually, you can. Full health is obtainable via this method. There's even a Duckstation achievement for it, so I know it's doable.

@@JoesGuy the thing is tho, most of the imagery like the background in eyeball world is paracas related. But there is Aztec imagery like the Aztec rave monkey and the pyramid to the sky. Or the little stone heads in FC world. Also the music that plays in the kalimba event and moniko event are African cultural music which is pretty neat. I swear yume nikki has stuff from every single ancient culture lol

I was a master of the pc versions of both games as a kid. Something seems off about the GBA version of Elf Bowling 2, at least when it’s played on your emulator. There were times when elves didn’t travel as long of a distance as they should have. There also seemed to be issues with the game not detecting collisions between elves that it should have detected.

A common misconception, but if you watch the rest of the stream, you'll see I get bronze and silver afterward by simply getting a time in-between both medals. :D
