I'd like to thank you for posting this. My C55 came to me without a working siren. I didn't realize it until I detected a low power draw on my battery and it coincided with a fault code for the siren. I do believe these circumstances are related and am in the market to buy a worthy replacement. If anyone knows the correct P/N(s) that would work for replacement, please let me know. I will respond with the P/N shown in the MB diagnostics system as soon as I know.

Thanks for the explanations. That gave me a lot confidence in order to check the air filters. My filters only consist of a mesh with an additional fabric(?). There is no foam. I own a 749s built in 2003.

Good detailed analysis. Proving the plugs with OHMS testing was a good learning and testing after drying them out also. I expected them to come up fine once they dried out, but no...... What kills plugs?

both have copper washer . socket size not sure i got it for my bike but fits car too

Yeah. I need to pop open both of my XBoxes open and take a look. They are working fine at the moment. I suspect the Halo XBox I have has one of the gold capacitors that doesn't need to be replaced.

How has this rebuild kit held up since? Trying to decide whether or not to rebuild or just go 1098 cuz that's a direct bolt up and from what I understand a better design.

replaced conductor plate and o rings on solenoids .. fault was hard shift 2-3 and 3-4

Soooo., a year after watching it the first time it doesn’t look any easier. Think I’ll get my sister’s 5 year old to reach in through the ram air inlets and clean mine lol😂
