Best ending in the history of endings... subtle yet powerful. ❤❤

They would be dead by now 70 years after the war. One if them would die from dementia. And not remember any of it. Those piled rocks still there.

What this show did better than any before it and maybe even since, was it made us love every character. Trapper John leaves, BJ Hunicutt comes in and while different, is equally magnificent. Same with Blake and Potter. And Frank and Charles. They all fit so perfectly and the show didn't drop off at all as the cast evolved. And they did comedy and reality with such accuracy. The episode and scene where Colonel Blake leaves and is subsequently killed when his chopper was shot down was just mesmerizingly good. It's a scene I could watch right now and still be moved by it.

I remember after a number of years of seeing mash every Monday evening, seeing that specific episode and it tore my heart strings. There were so involved in what they did and yet they brought the watching public into everything. Shows like that are rare, but we were blessed to be able to watch M*A*S*H for years.

Feb 28th 1983 was a sad day for this then - 15 year old... Sum of the references were before my time, but i FELL in love with the PURE COMEDY GENIUS of MASH😋

I watched MASH all of the time with my parents when I was growing up growing up. I think the whole Country watched this finale the night it was on. I still watch MASH reruns every night. Great actors especially Alan Alda!

Shows like this will never happen again. People had changed so much. They have forgotten compassion. They have forgotten what it’s like to be loyal to someone to be caring to be gentle to be kind. We are all wrapped up in phones wrapped up in technology. There is no human contact anymore. Human contact is what makes us human. You take that element away and you put us on a phone and then there is no contact. There is no interaction. There is no mercy no grace, no kindness. There is no love. There is no caring. It’s all impersonal people don’t see it. They just go along with it.

I was a MASH fan but I didn't like the legendary "Farewell.." episode. It was too dark for me. No matter how much they cherished their fellow characters, Getting out of a war zone and going home needed a more joyous treatment.

The legacy of this iconic series will be in making future audiences laugh, cry, and ponder, as Shakespeare did hundreds of years ago on the stage. The M*A*S*H scripts not only entertained us via humour, they educated and invited us to reflect on what it is to be human, even in extremely difficult circumstances as an army medical unit doing it's best to cope with the horrors of war, it's futility and the inevitable waste of lives on both sides of the battlefield. M*A*S*H remains a masterpiece of production bejewelled with a fine cast.

No social media, no nation-wide long distance plans and no chatrooms back then. When people left their friends, they knew in all probability that they'd never see them again. Very sad.

Yes, I made so many friends while in the Air Force, not just in the US but also overseas. We all promised to keep in touch. Most of us have not. It's an emotional gesture and you mean it at the time. It is just not always possible. I know however that we meant it and I love all those people!
