great video, you never let me down, i think rusian's strategy was a mistake, they just needed 224 to put presure on greek team, rusia lifter failed 225 and he came back with 227.5, they blew a 7.5 advantage in snatch

During those days you could only increase lifts in 2.5 kg increments. They could not take 224.

@JohnDoe-td7mu but they do increase 224.5
@JohnDoe-td7mu
@JohnDoe-td7mu 3 күн бұрын
@@haroldpepete that's for the world record in the C&J. However, for purposes of the total, a 224.5 would only count as a 222.5 C&J; i.e. if someone snatched 180 and C&J 224.5 for a world record, then their total would only be 402.5 kg. For purposes of the total, 224.5 counts the same as 222.5.

Probably changed the attempt to buy more recovery time; otherwise he would have to follow himself on 225kg

Not Naim's best day but still a win. He did "retire" in 1989. He came back and won his 2nd gold at the 1992 games and a 3rd olympic gold beating Leonidis at the 1996 games. They traded three consecutive world record lifts in the C&J with Leonidis failing at 190 Kg and taking the silver. I wish I had been there in Atlanta.

Thank you very much. Already looking forward to it. So to clarify, the first video will be uploaded on 16th January? Also do you need to be a paid member of your channel to watch these videos? Once again, your efforts are much appreciated. Very hard to find vintage women’s weightlifting videos around this era especially. Your efforts really assist with this.

@@jmcdowell994 They are already uploaded, putted them for you, now you can watch them as a channel member. Thanks for your kind feedback, appreciate it. I have lots more about women's weightlifting, almost every session from europeans and words where female hungarian lifters were competed (until 2002 - VHS/VCR era).
