Layla also suffered from depression and if you look closely, you'll see that she was a cutter ( IYKYK ). The Dark could seemingly offer her a lot. And I agree with all your other arguments about her as well. Don't forget other clues like "She is NOT your pack" and the Layla Death Stare thing which is very much a Dark One thing. *Power over death.

Haha these unhinged WoT book "fans" thinking things should be done a specific way for their entitled selves is such an interesting phenomenon. The books are still there for you guys if you don't like the show. Or maybe collectively start your own adaptation, see how that goes 🤣 It's almost like these weirdos scan every new piece of media coming out just to rant about their own opinion. The books repeatedly state that the dragon will be a boy born om the slopes of dragon mount yet the show literally says that they don't know if the dragon will be male or female. That's literally spitting on the books

I disagree that Rafe and the others truly love the source material. If this was the case they would respect the fans as kindred spirits, but all the interviews and PR seem to indicate that they do not and actively enjoy upsetting fans of the books. I loved the books, and wanted to love this too, but now I want it to fail and disappear so that hopefully (sometime in my lifetime) an adaptation will be created that does justice to this masterpiece of storytelling.

You must be seeing different interviews than I. I've met some of them personally and they have a deep love of the books. But they also love making TV and understand adaptation better than I do. I don't love all of their choices but I can acknowledge why some of those choices were made without attacking the people who made them or making false claims about their intentions.

@@UnravelingthePattern ok I admit can’t claim to have met them personally, but I have seen Rafe and others criticise and insult fans online. I don’t want to make false claims as you put it, nor do I have any hate for anyone, I’m simply very disappointed. I genuinely love RJ’s WoT and wanted this adaptation to excel but it simply doesn’t illustrate an understanding or love for the source in my opinion and the opinion of multitudes of book fans and is evidenced by the declining viewership. Of course I understand adaptations will differ from the source, however many of the changes were very questionable to say the least, and the show runners do seem to be rejoicing in antagonising fans. There’s a trend in Hollywood at present to no longer listen to or respect fans and then double down when they complain or don’t watch it - what happened to all feedback being good feedback? Peter Jackson’s LOTR is excellent, although there are changes from the books they seemed to just adapt the source to fit the format limitations (removing Tom Bombadil etc) whereas Amazons WoT is adding it’s own content, changing character, lore and story arc fundamentals for their own reasons. This is what’s being viewed by myself and others as a lack of respect.

Haha, I've always disliked the name "True Power" because it does feel a bit lazy and some fans genuinely get confused about OP vs TP. But it does make sense that the Dark One would want to mimic the Creator's power by trying to call it something similar.

They may have Broken the Sword that Could Not Be Broken but the Blood of lost Manetheren still will not bend knee to the shadow. Tai'Shar Manethreren! Carai an Caldazar! Carai an Ellisande! Your blood still sings! BTW The fall of Manetheren would make a fantastic video.

You have a level of show like Game of Thrones. Then....much lower level... you have shows where they cut corners and do terrible job on casting and set designs and a whole host of other problems like Shannara and the Willow series and Wheel of Time. I guess the show runners think we wont notice or care when the village looks pristine with no clutter that would accumulate in a village. See Deadwood on how to make a town look lived in. Then you have pristine clothes instead of clothes that look like people have worn them more than just for this scene. Not to mention chopping out so much of the book. Stop thinking you can make a series and cut corners to save money and think it will be fine. It is not fine. If you don't have the talent or the money to do it properly then stay away from it.

I watched chapter 1 to 30 because i read Eye of the World some months ago and didn't finished. I didn't liked at first, but the process in remembering the story that i saw and reading the rest that i didn't it was really good! Now i can separate pros and cons and move on to the next book knowing that the thing that i didn't like will get better. Thanks for this video, even in 2024, for being so good xD

I'm pretty disappointed with wheel of time adaptation in general, prime studio just no where close to HBO when it comes to high fantasy. this series was completed with book they can follow and still they make a mess out of it. how I wish HBO will be the one handling this series instead.
