was really annoyed and struggling with this, managed to find a random other player with a summon sign down named lime who help me push through the horses and fought the boss with me, wherever you are, thank you, i was losing my sanity

I would like to share how I got through this area and beat this boss. Maybe some of you might consider it cheating, but for those of us who would like to have an interest with saving time, I would like to share another method. Get the 2 summons near the coffin, they will help you by being targets for the horses. Make sure to have a good shield like Rebel Shield with you. Then run through the area, and once you reached the fog wall, you may choose to send the summons back if you want to play solo, or keep them. Quit the game after you have your final build setup. Find your savefiles for Dark Souls 2, the path is usually in Documents or Roaming. Copy the latest one, you can make sure its the latest one, if the time is absolutely the current time or 1-2 minutes around. Paste it somewhere you can access. Now, open the game and go for your attempt at the boss. If you lose, just quit again and load and paste that savefile again. This is always so much better than the 5 minute walk of shame you always have to do. And this area being so bad, I dont even consider this breaking the game. This method allows you to easily learn the moveset of these pricks bosses, and not die with anger because of the 5 minute runback. Lud and Zallen were the 2nd last boss I had remaining, even after I had finished Elden Ring. This is the method I used to kill them.

or you can just use the summons and run from shelter to shelter and i feel like that's the way developers wanted you to play the area

Thank you so much for this vid. Took me 4 tries to beat them, did this run perfectly 2 times. But even when I did aggro the horses, it wasn't that bad because if you've got a greathammer, and the stone ring, the heavy attack can pancake them 100% of the time. So dealing with them wasn't a problem

Dude, thank you for this! For some reason, I couldn’t get the first horse to stop from spawning even though I’m pretty sure I stopped right where you did. It would keep either spawning right in front of me or to the left of me. But hell, I’ll take one horse over fucking six of them lmao. Now I don’t have to skip Lud and Zallen every time I replay this game.

If there is no object to block it, they will hear anything from very far away, but you can tiptop around them in full vision as long as you don't get too close or make any noise. That's either minimum forward on the stick or moving while aiming down the sight of a bow.
