thank you for listening! i'm not sure what exactly you mean ... do you mean a rendering of the midi using Pianoteq's guitar model? or a solo guitar arrangement? or something else?

i tried running it through that and looking at the fretboard. i don't think it comes up with anything that's playable. however if you are interested in the midifile to try to make your own arrangement i could make it available.

if you know the original recording from 1983 (Live in Munchen) and now see the keys, it is just mind boggling. Even if someone could technically play these notes, you would still miss the expression and storytelling genius of the original artist to create a composition and arrangement like this in the first place. There was only one real McCoy who had it all. Forever grateful for all his music and legacy. Thank you for uploading this video; it will inspire people for years to come.

Unbelievable, You've done an absolute service to the jazz community, I don't think there's any way to repay you. This is one of the best renditions of Giant Steps I'd ever heard in my life, and the original video has such a poor audio quality that combined with the speed and complexity of this piece seems like it would be nearly impossible to ever transcribe. The fact that you've been able to convert it to a medium as clean as this and uploaded the video for free is 2 steps short of a gift from God themselves, and allows someone as amateur as me to finally be able to transcribe this to sheet music. Thank you very much and continue the work that you do.

Can you elaborate a bit more on what this is, is this some sort of AI playing this piece or it composed it or something? Sorry, some of the words in the description dont make much sense to me
@BudoSaurus5 ай бұрын
hi, thank you for listening and sorry it's rather vague. a neural net took the audio file and produced a midi file from it. the midi file is then rendered by pianoteq (the software piano you see). so really it's Hampton Hawes doing the performance, although indirectly! the original performance is on his album The Challenge. the tools in the description are what i used to do it.
