Guys it’s not only the girls that will try to drug you. The guys will too . I made friends w a tour guide and after a yr of know him I let my guard down thinking he’s a friend. We were eating and i got up to take some pics came back and continued eating and drinking, He spiked my drink and my antennas went up right away. I got up faked I needed to make a phone call and got away to seek help. A family out side their house saw I looked out of it and took me inside to get me to the hospital. Please be safe with everyone. I have another story of a guy who made friends; he goes out drinking and almost gets drugged…a girl out of several girls he was with ended up taking his drink and she got drugged cops and ambulance had to come get her.

Let's be clear, the reason many men go to Colombia is for other reasons, I know many friends, especially from Miami, and especially black guys, who think that when they arrive in Medellin, women are going to throw themselves at them, for the 10 dollars they have in their pocket. They have created a culture that thinks they will be kings when they arrive in lands that are not theirs. In Colombia, there is a lot of prostitution, I know what the situation is like. They have to respect the places where they go. It is unfortunate that many men only think about that and do not see how beautiful Colombia is. It has many places to visit, etc. Many choose to move to that area, thinking that everything is going to be a dream. and that is the reason why many are going now. Be careful. Many have died too.

Thank you for such an interesting video Carlton. I've got plenty of bad responses from people from the US when mentioning this topic abroad. It's simply not easy for Americans and even other Latin Americans (Where mixture didn't happen the same way as in Colombia, Venezuela or Cuba). As I mentioned in other comment it'd take me just to go back 3 or 4 generations to find Afro, Ingigenous and Spanish blood in my family. And that's not even 300 years!!!! Imagine way further back in time. We've been mixed for over 500 YEARS!!! I'm very proud of my Afro, Indigenous and Spanish roots and I look "trigeño" so basically mixed, mestizo if you want. People from the US find it offensive when I tell them I feel prou of our Afro heritage and roots as if I was "appropiating" whatever they think it's Afro in the US. We simply know that there's Aboriginal, Afro and Spanish blood in our families from centuries ago and we simply look at the colour of skin as a characteristic of the person, it's impossible to tell what race you came from cause most of us came from the three of them. Everybody or most of people are mixed. Why did they tell you that Indigenous are different? Perhaps because most of isolated tribes for example in the Amazon jungle have prevailed being isolated and there hasn't been much of a mixture as it happened in the rest of the country. I suggest you to Google "Colombia castas" and you'll see the different classifications they had of different races AT THAT TIME, now imagine all the different mixtures you'd have today after hundreds of years. One Love!

The reason why Many Latin Americans identify by skin color is because many are MIXED between White and Native. So you are NOT a race like African American or White or Chinese. We are MIXED. So a dark skinned mixed person is "moreno." A light skinned mixed is ."Trigueno". Each country has its own local words...
