Holding into the afterhours with size in a low-market cap, low-float stock, and not setting a stop-loss are serious errors on the risk-management side. You have to take a lot of risk to go from 17k to 500k, but it takes just one bad trade, like this one, to wipe you out completely. Thanks a lot! - when he detatched from monetary goals, he exploded because his system was making money, but he wasn’t. eg the system would cut the loss, but he wouldn't we're more patient with losers because we keep thinking it'll turn around and more quick with winners, we want to lock in the profit 1 rule break is a rule break of 100. he wants to avoid that so he's always in control if you can detatch from the money, you'll have more success. Don't be too high on winners, too low on losers. if you have 100 trades and a 10% draw down, there's a red flag there that you need to fix found edge in reversals stock goes up too fast too quickly, high probability that it will come down. he believes it's worse to have a spike at the open because the most manipulated stocks would spike at the open because you're capturing all the ones that result in losses and missing all the alldayfades don't trade premarket, usually don't trade past 1pm est or take entries past that time because he wants to allow trades to work volume filter: lower the volume, the better. Less attention on the stock, less likely to have algo manipulation, eg a stock trading under 1mil volume is unlikely to be manipulated or crowded at that time. But if it's already traded 20mil volume, it's probably going to be trappy and difficult a hot stock with big volume, after a few days, look to short it into a resistance level usually when a stock goes to resistance, maybe it will then drop to 15%-20% gains, but size out before volume dries up everything based on expected growth, don't use risk ratios or r multiples if it reaches usually around 30% profit target, he would take everything off recycle with smaller size just focus on the best of the best, 80% come from 20% multiple trades = mental capital burn, buying power tied up, opportunity costs, baseline criteria is stock gapping up at least 25% if trading a 300% gapper, range will be wider, spike will be higher, max gain will be higher because there's more range with the stock and thus size in less to account for the volatility. Whereas trading a 20-30% gapper, we know the expected range is less so then we would be sizing in accordingly likely heavier if you have 5mil account, you can risk 1% or however of the account, but if you have 10k account, if you lose all that, it's not the end of the world, you can probably make it back with a side job. So why not risk more of it and be aggressive with it and try to go exponential. he turned 3k account to 7 figures by being really aggressive simulators to traders for how much % they want to risk per trade and it will show equity trajectory, the drawdowns, the max gain potential, easier to execute when you have less money in the trade because you don’t pike profits and arent scared of massive losses 0.5 kelly whenever he's heavy size in the trade, he's either piking small profits or taking a loss with a 30% stop, you should place 87% of your account in the trade 30% stop is his go to stop profit ratio: is average win/ average loss edge = (1+profit ratio)*win%-1 win%= number of wins/ all trades checks if the spike % is more than the max gain, is the cover efficiency over 90%, harder on large cap divide full kelly stake by your stop %
