I hope you can answer this...I have a similar situation..the new keyboard fits but is it suppose to snap in place or does the brace keeps it in place or is there something else I can do...

I have an HP desktop that obscures this part of bios. Is this bios in all machines? I cannot find any way to boot into it. It's like they gave me HP Bios Lite.

Оторвав эти пластмассовые заклепки, разве они будут держаться, на том что осталось ? Hp почему то делает такие корпуса, это настоящий геморой пока все снимешь.

So now, two years on - did this repair using the hot glue gun hold? I just bought a replacement keyboard thinking it would be easy - but then realized I had to melt off the old plastic pins on the cover to get the old keyboard off. Wasn't sure hot glue would hold and thought I'd have to remelt some plastic in there...

hey rob , would really need any more info/videos on this a hp pavilion 17 ab series, any more info would be lovely I have te non backlit version. Can i use the keyboard light port to power a small 3v or 5v fan ? The port should be just near the keyboard-motherboard ribbon connector

Normally you would go into Disk Management and delete/extend partitions there. Failing that, there are a number of programs out there that will delete/move/extend etc. partitions.

@@computerrepairswithrob6282 thanks for this info. The Lazesoft disk-cloning software worked perfectly. Unfortunately my (Dell) laptop failed to boot properly with the newly cloned M.2 NVMe 2TB drive, after doing a sector-by-sector clone from a 1TB MVMe drive. Any suggestions?

@@tizio54 I ran into that issue and then when I updated my Lazesoft version, it worked fine. I believe Lazesoft has free updates.

@@computerrepairswithrob6282 but I downloaded Lazesoft yesterday (for the first time) so I assume it was the latest version. I could try Macrium Reflect, as some KZbinrs recommend. Or I could decrypt my drive/disable bitlocker as you showed in another video, before cloning. I'm not sure what the general impact will be on my laptop if I disable bitlocker encryption.

@@tizio54 Curious that it's not booting with the latest version of Lazesoft. I don't think there is any impact on the laptop in general, by disabling bitlocker encryption; at least there was none when I did it. As far as I know, it just affects the storage drive.

Thanks. I need to do this soon but it's insane the amount of work that needs to be done just access that keyboard. It should be like the old laptops will you flip it the proper way lift it from the top and replace the whole thing that way. 🤬

@@btito916 (edit, it might actually need to be usb1.0 that's needed) you can try using a USB 2.0 plug. My old case has front panel 2.0 and apparently windows 7 doesn't have boot support for USB 3's
