Hey! What would you like to know? We're happy to help with any questions you may have. Symptoms of calcium deficiency include: Dystocia/Egg Binding, soft or thin shelled eggs, flight issues, lack of coordination during flight, legs spread further apart, leg weakness, seizures, drooping wings and biting/aggression. Calcivet has been formulated to supplement the diet of birds where calcium and Vitamin D3 may be low. It will also support breeding birds and their young with essential calcium. Vitamin D3 maximises calcium absorption in the gut. Calcium supports shell formation and the normal development of bones in young birds. Regular use of Calcivet in seed eating birds will ensure adequate calcium for strong bones, muscle formation and general wellbeing.

A useful video, and an essential product. Please improve your audio with a shirt microphone and make a new video, this is 11 yrs old! Also, are you mistreating finches by shoving them in your pocket and shaking them around in your hand when demonstrating this product? This was very disturbing to watch. Do not do that to a live bird!!!!

Can this be mixed into pet's food while it's cooking? In other words, will heat affect the probiotics?

It says feeding more then 50% pallets can lead to disease issues so is it best sticking with 50/50 for Budgies?

I’d love to see an updated, clearer version of this. I just got a baby lovebird and while syringe feeding is fine, I’d feel more comfortable crop feeding.

RUBBISH PELLETS Filled with process soy and excess sugar. I purchased my hahns and he came with these pellets caused tremendous hormonal issues. STICK TO FRESH CHOP that is extremely diverse. Two of each colured vegetable cooked legumes, herbs, spices cinamon star anisse, organic coconut oil, hemp hearts flaxseed, and use only TOPS PELLETS or HARRISONS. Tops is cold pressed so doesn't lose nutrients during heat processing. HARRISONS is avian studied and created for those tops haters. 80 PERCENT should be fresh bio available food. 10 percent should be pellets 10 percent should be seed and nuts for any parrot species except your nectavores and frugovores. Sprouted seeds and nuts! Do NOT BUY THIS it's basically froot loops for birds. CEREAL RUBBISH since when did processed cereal in animals become better then a natural diet? Dogs kibble is bad. Cats kibble is bad. Birds KIBBLE IS BAD! LOOK UP DR JASON CREAN AVIAN NUTRITION and your bird will thank you.

I had tried a lot of tactics to convert my Love Bird to pellets without succeding. Then i tried this method and it was super easy. Within 1,5 weeks the bird is only eating pellets and keeping its body weight. Thank you!
Hi, best to look that up via our resellers which can be found here :) - vetafarm.com.au/store-finder/

I work at a bird store and I clip loads of budgie, conure, cockatiel, quaker, etc wings. We clip all of the baby birds wings because we hand train each and every one, and since we have rescue birds like macaws and African greys around the store, its just safer for them to not be able to fly all the way to a macaw on the other side of the store and get hurt. I am not saying this video is wrong in any way, but we NEVER clip our bird's secondary feathers. (We also do not leave the first few, but I have seen people leave those in for appearance purposes and that's your choice.) For us, we clip about 5 primary feathers on each side, and that prevents the birds from taking off and flapping too far away, and lets them land safely. If a bird is very determined, we will take off another one or two, but from personal experience, the amount of feathers that were clipped in this video is Extreme. My parakeets have never had clipped secondaries, and even with half grown in primaries if they had gotten outside they would not have gotten far. Honestly I would have been more worried about them running away than flying away. The choice to clip a birds wings is up to you, but just from my experience, cutting the secondary feathers is just unnecessary. Those feathers are there for gliding and landing. leave them in and just cut all or half the primaries and your bird will be out of danger of dogs/cats, fans, or flying outside.

Oh this is good! Very helpful :) I've been mixing the crumbles with carrots and other veggies in blender and add a few soaked/sprouted seeds at the end...works a treat!
