I have to tell someone - i bought a Royal Blue Overdrive second hand and I gigged with it twice today. The clarity it gave my strat plugged into an AC10 was so good! Pull the bass and treble controls back to 9 O'Clock.

The harmonica bridge kicks ass. You can dial in the intonation with that sucker. If I get one. I'm sure I'll replace the pickups to less output.

$4000 is absolutely a HORRIBLE FINANCIAL INVESTMENT…. A $4000 set of drums …DONT… get you the gig… you do A $4000 set of drums don’t make YOU sound good…. YOU…make the drums sound good. Chick Corea, Steve Wonder, and Jaco P….Alllllll…. ..SOUND… better …AS DRUMMERS…than most of …IS… stop readin here.. the rest is rant… I’m from the DC area… Chuck Levins / I still play the 20” Zil I bought there in 1976(?)..and I saw Steve Gadd there doing a Drum Clinic… frankly he was not well at the time.. but we all evolve… the place was “Chucks”…or…Washington Music Center…. I can’t find any of my dead drum heads that say “chucks “.. on them but I have one from the ‘70s that says venemans music… And my 1969ish Rogers Red Onyx Swivos ( bass drum) has a “ Drums Unlimited, Bethesda MD” sticker on it… With respect to SOME Rogers drums… 1) some were great… and some were criminally poorly crafted with HORRIBLE bearing edges… ( I REALLY THINK THAT) My ( 1970-1972 (?) Roger’s were culled out of the Rogers drums being delivered to DU… as the junk… ( horrible bearings)… and then they sold THAT whole set of junk drums… to a 17 year old kid who didn’t know any better… ( me) 2) there is no such thing as a student model musical instrument ..so Brook Mays openly stating that they would NOT work on nor support First Act because it was crap… they were right. A plastic clarinet is ok… for ONE… YEAR… FIFTH GRADE ONLY…and then for marching band when it’s 15/degrees outside… “student instruments…are…junk…” and they CAUSE…THEY….CAUSE…LIMITATIONS… so they should be identified as “ negative training devices”… I was a piano tuner tech with Jordan Kitts in College Park MD…. SO YES I could be a professional witness.. and… in my opinion… the following pianos were NEVER musical instruments… Lester, Betsy Ross, Whitney, Cable…. They were pieces of furniture… built to LOOK LIKE A PIANO…AND BUILT….cheap …so they could be PRICED cheap…so grandma could have one in her living room. but they were furniture… and I had that discussion with a thousand moms and dads that wanted me to tune up the POS that they just bought so that they could force their kid to take piano lessons. I explained all of the above… and that “ after the first year, that piano was CAUSING bad habits and lowered tonal expectation”..and a reason that the kid hated practicing was that they could hear and feel that their piano sounded and played like crap compared to their teachers Steinway, Baldwin or Yamaha baby grand… Sorry rant too long. Likewise a Yamaha Phoenix kit WILL NOT make you play like Weckl … Nor will a $4000 drum set MARKETED to boomers with extra Cash …. And MEANT ONLY to make you infer a promise of “ going back” to Merriweather Post Pavilion “… buy a Nice used set of Star Classics … or a nice upper mid grade Yamaha or Pearl kit… and invest in drum lessons from FIVE DIFFERENT TEACHERS…yes really..( different perspectives)…and buy a decent 8 channel recording interface and 5 SM57s plus a Beta 52 or similar and two mid grade condensor mics for overhead…. And you will have money left over to buy groceries for your family. Get fresh drum heads…top and bottom for ALL of your drums at least once when you get them…. Learn how to set up and tune WHAT YOU HAVE.. and then record yourself.. Allow your instructors and mentors to “ positively” critique your playing and your sound.. LEARN…HOW…TO…TUNE FOR THE ROOM AND THE BAND.. you will then start to recognize when you can’t get the tuning range/ tone and or volume RANGE from your drums… so it’s time to GET NEW HEADS… Yes …Bonhams drums WERE “ pitch tuned” for each/ ( many /most) songs… on Zep 2…. NOT to match pitches ..but to become invisible behind the harmonic structure. Don’t overspend on the drums… overspend on YOU.. THE DRUMS..don’t make YOU sound good… YOU…make the DRUMS…sound good. Ok take some time and get input on a RANGE of ride and crash cymbals… Different rooms, and different size and volume bands do need different “ explosion” volume points for your crash cymbals… There is nothing ….. ( ok there is LITTLE…little) dumber or more embarrassing ( for a drummer) than the sound of going “ tinnnng” on a crash.. because you’re playing a wedding reception that requires MIN volume… a small THIN CRASH… can go “crash”…not KKKAAAAARRAAAASHHHHHH !!!! It can speak at lower volumes… or decay FAST at louder volumes. ( SPLASH)..not trash.. $4000 for a drum set..???..!!!…HELL NO…I….won’t take them out to a gig… that’s what my exports are for…so that $4000 isn’t a financial investment if it can’t make ME money …It’s a Peenee pump.

I have been around the block for almost 30 years trying all different saxophones, brands, etc and always go back to Selmer, there is something about Selmer saxophones other makers can`t replicate. All the modern horns I played sound good, great built and such but when I go back to my 1963 VI it always feel like home to me, I`m getting a Supreme tenor soon, tried the Signature too and it was a great horn but the Supreme speaks more to me. great video tough, hated the bright mouthpiece that guy was playing, made the horn sound cheap. Want to hear how great this horn sound? check out Max Ionata playing the Supreme.

I didn't have high hopes for this version to live up to its original's legacy, but this thing packs a punch. Those mini humbuckers run HOT. It plays the heavy stuff just fine but with a few knob turns, this thing turns into a jazz or country star. I'm not a huge PRS guy but I have no regrets getting this. What an outstanding guitar
