@ I have made pizza crust with it , I appreciate the video you put out it’s just when I saw that it was a discard recipe I wasn’t expecting to see added yeast. With your comment I have learned that to make something that needs more rise it may be unattainable with just the discard. Thank you for your shared knowledge. I’m just starting out with using the discard and searching for ways to use it.

@@discobikerAndRosie in Canada our pumpkin only comes in mL. We use the metric system! For baking most people use Cups! I just shared the recipe that was handed down from previous generations!

You leave it in the oven. Don't even open the door! Just lower the temp and keep baking the reminder of the time.

@@nandosmits317 yes he does a great explanation. Custard fillings can over bake very quickly. That's why it's important to know your own oven. You definitely want to make sure there's still some movement in your custard when you pull it out of the oven. Otherwise, you are correct it is over baked!

@@bluegoose6653 for me it depends on what kind of pie I'm making. If you're making a pumpkin pie, I do not bake the crust at all. I only blind bake if I'm making something like a chocolate pudding pie. Or a butter scotch pie. So basically what I'm saying is I follow the directions of the specific pie that I'm making. I can link some of my pie recipes here for you so you can see some examples.I hope this makes sense.

@@gordonsgrapes if you don't have any yeast on hand, you could make them without yeast. They just won't be as fluffy. I do make some flatbreads with no yeast at all and they are quite good.

@@shastatodd9012 yes you definitely can. I just always have active dry yeast on hand. The rapid rise yeast may work a bit quicker so just keep an eye on your dough when it has doubled in size! Happy bread 🍞 baking!

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and thoroughly mix. 2. Bake at 425°F for 20 minutes. Then lower temperature to 350°F for 45 minutes or until a sharp knife comes out clean in the middle.

@@poshbaby30 I just use the screws that came with the casters. For the shoe bin I used the IKEA casters. They are linked in the comment above. And for the pantry, I ordered some casters on Amazon and I used the screws that came with those as well. You just have to make sure that they don't poke through the wood.

I really like how you don't necessarily need to chill the dough before rolling it out. I think that it's more pliable to work with that way. I've read from other pie-makers that you don't really need to chill it, and it's so much easier to work with! Thank you for this video - I am going to try this recipe, even though I do have another recipe that I've been following for years.

@@enidbarnes7807 Hi- thanks for your comment! I don't always chill the dough but I do always use ice water. It's much easier to roll out right away. I also do keep the extra dough in the fridge for up to a week. Sometimes I roll it out and form it in the pie shells and freeze it as well. It's a very versatile recipe. It's never failed me and I've used it for at least 25 years! And many others in my family have used it too. Thank you so much for following along! I appreciate your support.

I make this crumble, too! But I have a fast version. Melt 100g butter, add 100g Oats 100g flour and 50g sugar, apinch of salt mix it up with a fork. Cut Rhubarb into small pieces put it in a tray, put the crumbles above and let it for 30-40m in the oven 180°c :)
