I had the opportunity to listen to his performance at his very young age in a marriage function in Salem. There was lot of commotion. I was there and even after coming to staying room in the same premises, his music reverberated and truly a God's own blessed child taken back at a young age. Such artists always live around us through their music....

Annammacharya was born and lived in 15/16 century and he is contemporary of pitamaha of Carnatic music saint purandara das . Saint Thyagaraja was born in 17 century and annammacharya has written more poems than saint Thyagaraja. Also annammacharya’s poems have lot of philosophy besides Bhakti .
