I really love that there is so much honesty and the comment about in your last breath all that will matter is you and God. It reminds me of the mother Teresa poem “do it anyway”. I actually have a tattoo of that poem. I dreamt once that the end of the world was approaching and I was running from Jesus but then I realized that it was Him. I turned and looked at Him and He was looking at me and the whole world crumbled around me. All that mattered was Him. ❤️

So good bro. Such an interesting passage, with a lot of potential levels to this that I never noticed before! I still think he may have been referring to mankind in general, and I do think there is some value to the idea that deep down humans know there is God, but due to our love of sin we suppress the truth, as verse 19 says (which reminds me of John 3:20-21: "This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed." But this is a very interesting element you have brought out of this, of why we should apply this passage personally to ourselves as believers. And whether Paul is talking about humanity from Adam suppressing the truth for love of evil, or the history of the Jews, either way it is an important lesson I think for us all, as he is talking about those who knew God but exchanged that truth for a lie. I think we are safe if we remain in Christ, but we too could wander astray. Anyway, that was a rant, very thought provoking mate! :)

Hi Josh! I like your message here. We need to have grace for those outside the faith and understand their reasons for unbelief. You are right that some people have suffered or experienced other things that have hindered their faith. That being said, I disagree with your application of this verse to the saints of God. I like the message of preach what you practice, but I don't think we should make the saints afraid of Judgment Day. We preach what we practice because we have been transformed by the love of God, not because we fear judgment. Thanks! Keep up the good work, dear brother!
@preachwhatyoupractice10233 жыл бұрын
Really appreciate your comment. Totally agree with you too. I wasn’t intending for it to come across as fear of judgement but more that we should be careful about how we live.

Great wisdom, I love the idea of ‘head, heart, gut’ and moving forward if you’ve 2 of the 3.....I’m definitely going to use this. Also no vision, the people perish. Too many wise words to list them all 👏👏
@preachwhatyoupractice10233 жыл бұрын
Hey, great observations! Yes the head, heart, and gut is really interesting. Head = logic, Heart = passion, Gut = instinct. Always helps to make difficult decisions. And yes, where there is no vision the people perish, really good Bible verse in Proverbs 29:18
