it does work but it's better to have your horse catch you. I have 5 mustang that as soon as I go in the paddock or in their stalls, they come to me to be caught. much easier

@@HarmonyHorsemanship you're right. I just never really chassed my mustang from the beginning of their gentling. I created a tiny little pressure (draw) and got at least one or two steps towards me, I waited a few minutes in their stalls until they relaxed and I call that a win and left them alone. I had the luxury to do that for a few weeks. Until they were relaxed and trust me to put a halter on. One took about a month; He was a special case. He was a very, very frighten horse but we love him just the same. I believe when training a wild mustang with the smallest amount of pressure and the horse as relax as possible yields a better more trusting horse.

IMO , not cool to jump off as the horse acts up and then to loose the horse . You helped create bad habits by letting it get away with those things. You have your hands full with that one now. Good luck and be safe.

Not true, this is for her own safty, she is continuing to work in hand therefore she is keeping the work going, just in a safer way to get her brain back I've trained a lot of green horses like this using this method, it works great and doesn't train them bad habits when applied correctly

Super lovely video, I will totally subscribe! Do you think his front right bothers him? Is that you riding? I'm no expert but you look very good asking him and riding nicely. I just tacked up my newest horse today making sure to give him time to process... well, other than a bridle, led him around with the saddle cinched up, let him graze, and then took it all off and let him back in his pasture. He is a very well-trained horse, fully broke, soft, and was expensive, but I really want to make sure he is not nervous about me as a person, and that he knows I will not ask too much of him all at once. I bought him for my ex but she changed her mind about having a horse again after never riding him. He's been mostly unridden for 2 years. He was very worried about his ears being touched for a long time, and we are pretty consistently past that now. He still doesn't like his head being touched while he is eating. He became mine under a year ago. I'm sure that I could be riding him by now if I invested more time in that part of things. Mostly I work on my body language and respecting each other, and I trim his feet every couple of weeks so we also interact a lot during that. I love Warwick Schiller and we do a lot at liberty. Maybe soon I will get to sit on him a bit. :)

The horse's hooves are in pretty rough shape from not being regularly trimmed, so it's very possible that he could be a bit ouchy as they adjust to the properly trimmed feet. But also, as we do a gradual trim.

Hi Lindsey, I am just curious, watching this trainer, I don't see her using your typical R+ training. When Bailey gets all four hooves on the bridge, and when first mounting from the right, she never gives him a treat, just moves on to the next thing. I have been following your channel for years and was just surprised at the difference.

Seems like a really nice, honest horse. Not very off balance and picked up both leads correctly the first time. I wonder what he did in his previous job. I hope he finds a forever home. His age will work against him. Wish you had room in your lesson program, but at least he's getting the care he needs now.

Bailey looks good, shiny. Know the rest of the progress needed, as feet, rebalancing, etc. will come. Remarkable change in doing the teeter-totter bridge. To me, looking classy and being "chill", he might ultimately make a good lesson horse.
