WATER! WATER! WATER! How does everyone not remember that iconic scene? kzbin.info/www/bejne/goXWg4mPpp59hbMsi=742G1SO-u6SX6afm I know it is a bit over the top melodramatic, but it still makes me cry. Both of their life stories are so powerful and amazing.

Is there anything called thinking, cognitive processing, before the acquisition of language ? Helen must have had some fine observations to address this question, that has been around a long time.

She did, when she was only 6 months old (before the scarlet fever that took her sight n hearing) she could say 'water' (as her mother had described in the movie to Anne Sullivan) wa wa, wa wa, but she meant water!!

Hi Doug. The music was performed at Princess Diana's funeral. It's called "Song for Athene". Also known as "Alleluia, may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest". Composed by John Tavener. Thanks for your interest. Best Wishes! 🌿🌷🥀🌿

Great short film on Keller! She was a fascinating woman even regardless of her blind/deafness, with a brilliant mind When you really think about it, being able to teach a child communication without using sight or sound, just touch, especially in that era, is a massive feat.

Wonderful to see Helen getting awards and being acknowledged for her bringing more awareness to "sightless people". Amazing to see Kennedy again! It brings me back to my childhood immediately! Remembering that fateful day that he was taken from us. It was such a different world back then. Hope your summer isn't too hot Helen! Always wish you well, my friend!

I remember seeing a film about Helen Keller😭😖 about the year 1969, when I was being trained to be a teacher of English in the Maharagama Teacher Training College, Sri Lanka. I was surprised😖 at that time. Now, as a 75-year-old retired teacher, I've seen this, and I marvel even more. Of course, up to the age of 19 months, Helen was "normal".👍 Don't children start talking😛 at about 12 months? And from birth she would have been able to see😊. I guess that this is worth reading up more about.👍
