Do you have any ideas for my problem exactly same car. Original starter burnt out and replaced bosch starter and it worked a month and solenoid was burnt out from starter. Now replaced starter again and relay but worked only 40km, when coasting in 100km/h engine shutted off but did not started again at all and malfunction came up in dash with gear indicator. Same happend when original starter stopped working.

Update: on the 4th day of driving with both batteries a red message comes out on the dashboard, sometimes, showing battery and sying: visit workshop. So for now I disconnected the lithium and trying to learn the reasons and solve the problem. It looks like the Power Electronics control module is switching off the voltage supply to the 12v battery. With a single battery everything is OK. Probably in about 2 weeks from now, when I've learned more about it, I'll make another video on this topic.

You did an excellent job. Question for you I have Mercedes w221 very similar to your wiring on your car except maybe I missed but where did you tap off of for the front camera? I have aftermarket android radio which has inputs for 360 camera.

at 41:44 - are the connectors for the cameras to the 360 control unit, red/blue - mirrors, yellow - rear camera, black - front camera... as you see at 42:20, I insert black into the black - front camera connection

@@mercedes-benz2127 you used the 360 module, yes? I believe my android radio being that it has 4 inputs for video can be used as the module. The only issue I have is how to figure out how to get the front camera to trigger the video to show on the screw when the car is driving. The side mirror views will be triggered by the direct lights on the mirrors light yours.

@@clabruno I think you need to look at your screen manual. If it has input for the 360 cameras than you need to see what cameras it is compatible with. And then also you need to search the manuals on where to configure the bringing camera videos on the screen. What screen is that? My 360 camera does not have any trigger for the front camera. If I want to display it, I have to use the remove control to switch the 360 unit on and it will come on the screen.

No, haven't lost it. The rear camera from the kit has the light built in, and it works, but gives a bit less light than the left one.

I did not connect it to anywhere. It's a trigger cable for the external monitor if you have it. couldn't find mosfets with common ground, most of the boards on sale have common positive, so I would have to run separate ground wires everywhere

Yes, it would be the same. I would say for all Mercedes diesels. I would also include: checking the brake liquid for the water level (in %) and checking/tightening of the valve/rocker cover - 16 screws, 9nm torque, in every service. I recently spotted some oil leaks from under that cover, and when I checked none of the 16 screws was tight enough, had maybe 1nm of 0nm :) ... I thort there was no way of removing ash without taking the dpf off and cleaning it but your saying after months it cleared away slowly? I think I need to give this a try, how much did you pay for a can? Thanks

Tried one can today, put through the dpf pressure sensor hose, soot levels and ash still the same after driving for about a hour. Are you suppose to do a regen when you use this? Thanks

Also not sure about the module name. This was 2.5 year ago, and it was a cheap Chinese 360 camera kit. It works OK now as well. The only thing I had to do since then is to replace the rear camera. What I don't like about it is that it has a wide view which I don't like. I would prefer linear rather than wide. Also, I cannot make the lines work. I mean the ones that show the live path or guide lines where your wheels would go. You are talking about some radar. What do you mean? Is your rear camera does not show when you put into reverse gear? Or something else.

@@mercedes-benz2127 on screen of display, on 12,5" android, i have a picture of the car and signs like spider web (radar lines). It doesnt mater what camera i connect, that image is fixed on the reverse screen. Can i deactivate that somewhere in setings of android unit or it is there because of the sistem instaled?

@@djovidius3545 On the screen, when you go to the settings (the very right one), then Reverse, then you have to choose 360 Panoramic Reverse CVBS. You can also try the different options and see if it works. The very top one - Original Reverse is for the vehicle original reverse camera (if you have one installed).

So far my bambino has done 310K km (or 195K m). No issues. The hybrid battery last time was checked with MB Star a month ago and all cells are in order. The 12V battery is still original. It's OK and starts the car without issues, but you cannot sit with it and watch a movie for longer than half an hour without running the engine (or starting the car, which will use the hybrid bat. to change the 12V bat till 34%). In Sep. 2019 I replaced the starter. The old was OK, but MB Star said it was more than 300K starts and it had to be replaced, and I didn't want one day to get stuck somewhere on top of something like Timmelsjoch (Italian-Austrian Alps) with car not starting :) . Replacement took whole day, but the new starter has been working well since then. I didn't record a move during the replacement, but took some pictures, and will probably make some video with pictures and comments. All the services requested by the car are done in time and as requested. My services span around 15K miles (25K km) because most of the time I drive like old woman - usually not faster than 100 km/h (60 mph). The oil that I always put, always says ACEA C3 (low ash) - this very import. for dpf. And also, every service I apply the dpf ash remover as in one of the videos on this channel.

Thanks for the comment. This is Birchington near Margate, Kent. I cannot really advise any camera. I did this video while installing the camera I bought at that time. You need to look around because it's been 3 years since then and these thing change and get updated every few month. If you could find the stock 360 camera system that would be the best. But I think it's just very expensive. This camera system works well, but the problem it has is that it shows wide view, but I would prefer the linear image, that is not distorted, like the standard rear view camera from Mercedes.

That's a great video. Thanks for the update as well. Wanted to know what app you're using to carry out the diagnosis on your touch screen. Im guessing it's using a bluetooth OBD plug through the port being used. Also what chemicals did you put through to the DPF. Thank you.

Hi. Yes, if you attach a cam that is recognisible by this Android, it can record. But it would be consuming resources, and thus slowing down the operating system. So I would better have a separate dash cam. That's what I think. I never tried to use this system for live camera recordings. It has two usb (usb-A) slots and microSD and microSIM slots as well.

Not sure about that. When you'll be buying the camera, just check the compatibility. They should always tell you if it would fit your model. Speaking of the indicators, I think it can be done as they do them for basically all models. But one always has to check to make sure it fits.

strangely mesmerising , and fascinating to see it in action, very few videos on this model. is it true that its impossible to get full engine power plus electric at the same time? can it pull away solely on electric? and has anyone chipped the engine on this model yet? i'm guessing it would confuse the electric assist system. nice ride down from detling hill to charge the battery, perfect place to re-charge it!

- Yes, it is possible to get full eng. + electric power if you hit the pedal hard enough; - It can pull on electric only but if you press the pedal very slowly, but under normal driving, like pulling away on a traffic lights, no, the el. motor power (20KW, 26 bhp) is simply not enough for this car, and if you want something like that you need plugin hybrid, like 300 de model. - no, I don't know if anyone tried to chip this engine, - detling hill is perhaps the only place in south-east, where you can get some 95% charge (~80% internaly), 100% charge was happening only in Alps :)

Hi, is it possible that the sensor works perfectly sometimes and others not? Or when it fails, it fails forever? I had limp mode, but values were within specs. So I just cleared codes and car runs perfectly. Thank you very much :-)

Yes, that is sometimes the case. Also, make sure your eng. oil is low ash. That would keep you out of the trouble. Thus, when buying eng. oil, make sure it says ACEA C3, not less than C3, like petronas 5w30, where on the can clearly states ACEA C3. ACEA A, B all have higher ash content. C3 is the lowest. They also make 0w20 that is C5, but I have not tried it yet. It would definitely. be good for winter, but if you do oil change once a year, than you need good oil for summer as well :)

12:23 - shows installation inside the mirrors. When I bought the camera kit, it came with the bottom housing for the mirrors that had cameras already in them. So you just replace the whole bottom part.

Update. I must say that the cleaner in the video probably does work and does reduce the ash content. This is because, when I did live diagnostics on this car again, a few months later, the ash content was already showing 0.32 g. This is quite a difference. This means that this cleaner did help but the result could not be seen straight away but rather within some time.

you dont understand how ash calculation works! Car dont know about ash anything it just uses formula to calculate theoretical amount based on km driven and regenrations.. most important parameter is diff pressure yours is 70mBar @ 1500rpm. Hard to tell what have to be in your car while driving, but at idle it should be ~2mbar -less is better

Sorry for the late reply. The calibration markings are shown from 47:05 . Basically you draw the 4 lines that are parallel to the sides of the car. Then you draw 4 boxes on each corner of the car. Boxes are 1 meter long and wide. Then you sit in the car and move the calibration points onto the corner of each box.

the bluetooth settings are in the network menu and also in the system menu. I used them for sound, for Insta360, and for other connection. Did not have any problems so far.

About Torque: You go to google play and download the Torque. Then connect the device. Start Torque and it should find the device. If it does not find it, than in Torque you go to settings and choose the device that you have. If Torque cannot find the device that means that this screen's android system does not recognise the bluetooth device.

I don't normally leave comments, but you sir have saved me a fortune! I followed this video and I have managed to do it myself yay! Just to pre-warn everyone, it's a little bit more tricky removing the clips around the 2 hoses I needed a special tool call Clic-R collar pilers. They aren't expensive about £5 off Amazon, but really worth it if you want to reuse the clips. Last, I also had to reset my ECU to remove the previous fault code. I already had something you can plug in to do this but I've heard people disconnecting the battery or just allowing it to update itself just a warning because if you've got codes you still need to clear them after.

Not really that ugly. Yes, the stock system would be better. But if you don't have it, but you need 360 view than this option is not that bad. If you want to install aftermarket original from Merc than it would be fairly expensive. Consider that only one camera is $700 second hand, and you need 4, and then the control unit.

Hi l have w212 e300 hybrid diesel the battery light comes on when starting 12volt battery is ok alternator ok hybrid battery charging but takes 1 to 2 days before I can drive on hybrid thanks

Well. You best connect the MB Star and diagnose the battery, and check the state of each cell. Do the live scan to see if the battery is charging. This car now has 233K km (145K miles) and has never had any problems with the battery. There in no way you can effectively find the fault without MB Star. Thanks for watching and asking.

Hi, my w212 lift hybrid discharges the battery, when I apply external power, these are errors: a red message about the battery and information about the failure of the hazard warning lights. And engine won’t start. Do you have any advice? the mechanic said that the hybrid battery would need to be replaced. Thanks!

When my car is parked near the house, I often plug in external charger under the bonnet and it stays like this sometimes for 3 or 4 days if I don't use the car, and I never had any problems with that. My car has still original 12V battery and because it is already more than 10 years old, so I try to keep it on charge when the car is not used. You say it discharges your battery. Which battery? - the 12V, or the 140v hybrid battery? It should have nothing to do with Hyb. battery, as when the vehicle is off, there is no connection between the two systems. Did you also try to check the 3rd battery? I mean the small 12v backup battery? But if you are talking about the main 12V battery, than try to check the charger. It could be faulty.

No. No issues so far at all. 145 000 miles (233 000 km). No issues. All services are done by myself and on time - as suggested by the assist system on the dashboard. Six months ago the second gearbox oil change was done and no problems.

This car is the first mercedes hybrid, so that did make a few bugs on the system. When you drive in E mode, then come to stop, the engine will switch off. After that, when you stay in the car with the ignition on, and the hybrid battery charge will come down to around 33%, the engine will start automatically. Then the engine will charge the battery to about 70% and will stop charging it BUT the engine will not stop. You have to switch off the ignition and then switch it back on. Also when your hybrid battery is around 80% and you open the driver's door with the ignition on, the engine will start, but the manual says it should not start :) - so that's another bug. All the services are done on time, as advised by the Assist system on the dashboard and the car runs with no problems. Around six months ago the second geabox oil change was made and all was and is OK. This car is more effective than normal diesel E Class. It can give you in Somer (20*C and more outside) around 4 L/100 km (70 uk mpg, 58 us mpg) from cold for the distance of around 100 km. No normal E Class can give you such an effective drive. And your breaks will serve you longer if you are careful and effective driver as more breaking is done by the el. motor charging the battery. However the best E Class I would by is E 300 de (diesel plugin hybrid), but is much more expensive.

Thanks for the video. I've sorted it out. The problem was that I didn't have the cable 3.5mm jack to the interface and this is why it did not work :) Now all ok.
