I saw James at the Bedford 20, I was unofficial marshal at mile 12, and gave him a cheer both times he passed me. He did look slightly bemused as we haven't actually met before 😂. When you mentioned your foot issue I was taken back to a friend of mine who had identical problems. That was a bulging in her spine pressing on the nerve so pretty similar to yourself Katie. Good luck for Chicago.

thank you - as a UK person - what were the additional costs to get from the EU to the UK?? they look awesome. There's also a women's version - with shorter legs/higher waist - would that matter to you?? Thanks for taking the time.

The best part of running the Chicago Marathon is the Wells Street Bridge. Screaming crowds hanging on the sides of the bridge, while trains thunder overhead. Everyone screaming. Everything shaking.

Hi, The Big Half will be my very first London run on September 1, 2024. I'm been trying to get in touch with them over the past weeks. Did you get you bib number at 190 Great Dover Street? One more question. U got its opening hours? I'll try first thing in the morning. Thx a bunch n keep on running! 🏃🏼♀️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you so much for this! I’ve had Garmin watches for five years and had no idea you could program them like this. Just about to try it out for the first time.

I have a question. Can I listen to music with my android phone wearing a headset and hear interval prompts from a Garmin watch. I don't own one yet. I'm using it to learn to run type of program. So I would walk for a bit then get an alarm to run for a while and do this in sets. Thanks!

I did the Half, you must have been close to me at the start by the looks of it, close to the 1.30 pacer. Those first 5k were the hardest because of the uphill sections, most of the rest of the full course was pretty flat. That first climb caught a few out.
@TheRunningHubCommunity Жыл бұрын
How did you get on? Yes my fitness caught me out in the second half too 😅

I've been trying for a sub 90 half for quite some time and I managed a 1.29.49 so I was over the moon. London landmarks next up.

Katie, I know exactly what you meant. I was ill for Chicago this year. I ran ok and I had an ok experience but I wouldn’t say I loved Chicago for that very reason. Well done both of you. I know it didn’t go to plan James but there will be other races where you will smash it. Onwards and upwards 💪💪

Would this also translate to a good sports watch for strength training individuals? I personally do not do much running, primarily focusing on building strength and speed - for now.

No, I don't think you'd need a watch like this for strength training. What sort of data are you after?

@@TheRunningHubCommunity primarily would love to try tracking calories burnt more accurately and monitoring heart rate as well as sleep tracking. Previously had irregular heart rate associated to major work related stress which I wanted to keep an eye on as well as a family history of sleep apnea, so might need to save up for something 'medical grade' like the new Xiaomi H1 watch
