They have both an Indiana connection and a Florida connection. A gem of a band, and this song is a hall of famer.

Does this band have a Bloomington, In. connection? I used to hear a band by this name a few long years back.

Yes, there are two Vulgar Boatmen - the original recording outfit out of Gainesville, and the touring band out of Bloomington. But it's the same organization/songs. If you have seen them live anytime in the last 25 plus years, it's probably the Bloomington band. Interesting setup.

If you like this you will probably like the early Silos as well. The two bands share a common genesis as well as songwriting and composition styles.

Yup we did many tours with the Silos. Great guys, great band. Treagic that Manny Versosza got killed when they had that freak accident in Montana or Wyoming or wherever it was. Still makes me cry when I think about it. Incredible talent. Incredibly nice guy.

that's right. and better is not to buy some records and not to have them. better is not to drive when knowing how nor where and superbly, nor having of what to drive on. one or two old tires from old avto it isn't of vehicles driving, although creating of illusion of motion, motivation, destiny and destination. and better is not to suggest nor to request of landing of vehicles such as boeing or concord or something else of mighty sort, when traveling on paper boat, on paper plane, on art and craft of raft named plot, on would could should dream wooden log. nor anything of sort. what else is better. just hanging out at home when you don't have job and don't have to, when you don't have school and don't have to. school where you don't have to learn how to make papier mache hyppo pot amuse from old paper, glue, and air ballon, to turn it into piggy bank. to make it look like you school teacher. (it is of elses' thoughts, of shared opinons, yet I don't work and I don't visit schools. there is enough of good superb and of bizarre to see about on internet, and or learn of what is good superb (not counting the piggy bank of not to count on) without going into troubles of visiting and socializing). (what am I ? mlle leo tolstoy or mlle guy de Maupassant or something sort of ? no no no ! biss sonets and bee sonets of bissonette are probably somewhat all right. i'd love to listen to, yet how many are there. and who are they. and who am I. and where each want to be (besides the luggage section of concord or boing, in suitcase).

This is so pure and honest. The Silos (who were vaguely related to The Boatmen) of course also did a nice live version of this.
