Is it possible that you guys can name your webinars?. ie. the title includes the topics covered. Maybe I am missing something? but its kinda painful having to try and remember or guess what topics were covered and when , and then sift through the online webinars to try and find the bit you need. If there is an easy way of doing this please let me know. Also, being an up to date software company, you think it would be possible to trim the 10 minute countdown off the start of the video? Thanks guys

Can you do a video about the Structural tool?
@gerardofaustin81562 ай бұрын
I believe that is a beautiful tool to have. In addition to the fit out tool you should be able to add the CI electrical components inside of it. And while you’re at it, create a CI plumbing tool. And please update the CI electrical tool to include electrical panel schedule. I’ve been asking for this for five years. Furthermore, the cabinet tool should be a part of it. The side tool should be a part of it as well while you’re at it include as much of your own CI tools inside of the fit out tool
@CiTools2 ай бұрын
Yeah, definitely building in the ability to handle electrical, plumbing, and cabinets makes a lot of sense, and is one of the directions that we can see that this tool could go in At this early stage we are still looking for feedback as to what would be of most benefit to people, so your response is much appreciated - thanks!
@JH-kd6hs2 ай бұрын
Really interesting idea. But you realize that designers spend a lot of time refining the way our furniture and fittings look? You've already got ArchiCAD and CI libraries of furniture and cabinets that ArchiCAD users are invested in. And 3D Warehouse stuff can be imported easily now opening up the whole world of objects. Why reinvent the wheel with new beds, new cabinets, and new fittings, only to severely restrict available options... this seems like stepping back in time?
@CiTools2 ай бұрын
i get what you're saying, but the purpose of the fitout tool is not in the objects it places, but in the fact that it can place them automatically and allows easy reorganisation of the room layout once you are happy with your placements, you can then convert the objects to whatever you like, but the focus of the tool is the placement and manipulation, not in the objects themselves

Hi, when set to the "V" option, Can the drawer opening lines be orientated in both directions? In Australia the tip of the V should be where the handle is, which means the V's should all be pointing upwards for drawers (upside down V). I didn't see this basic option in your presentation and it is literally the ONLY thing I'm looking for.

Always something to know...thanks. TBH Im just trying to help here...but a couple of points (about production); 1. Once your voice over gets compressed even just a bit to go out to streaming...its got to be aware that every mouth smack, sniffle etc is greatly amplified and it does get a bit aggravating...a lot of peeps have more mouth noise...in this case use a dynamic mic not a condensor. Use a stream deck and use the mute or duck button when you clear your throat and stuff like that. 2. The detail of explanation is a bit verbose...would be great if it was a little more pointed with a number of example use cases so viewers can connect to the value 3. When you present objects and say "sometimes it does etc" its bad advertising and erodes my confidence. If it doesnt reliably work, then assume always update and dont mention it 🙂 4. Using well ordered viewsets, after watching many presenters and been to a lot of training, is the most professional and clear way to step through and helps you to time and flow it all by using the viewset list as your agenda ie "why is it not resizing?". I know you have some there...but I have noted presentations where it was a joy to roll through the setup and was impacted by how well the presenter used the language in a very articulate way...which inspires us to do the same Just trying to help...and make Archicad better :-) thanks for your efforts Josh. Most of those are decent helps but I especially like the object placement for landscape...excellent! Would be great if there was a list of objects you could add up front and random seed rather than all the fiddling about after...but still great The transmittal update is also a real labour saver and therefore error too.!
@CiTools5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately, I only have this one microphone, and it doesn't have a mute button, but I'll try to remember to not make so much noise. Point taken about the prep, as you can likely tell, these sessions are entirely run on the fly, hence why sometimes stuff goes wrong, views and bullet points aren't setup etc... The idea is that it's supposed to just be a weekly session where people can drop in and ask questions and stuff, so it doesn't really have any structure to it. I will do some more work on setting up some better generic views in the project I use though so it's a bit less chaotic. Again though - thanks so much for the help!

We would like to show text for elements like downpipes to show on floor plans and site plans so it's easier to navigate. I know that the tool can be able to show things like roof cladding, downpipes on multiple levels in 3d but when it's time to do documentation it's really hard to highlight the DP. I'm not sure if there is a way to indicate Downpipes, I normally just use DP annotation on the floor plan but it's really annoying trying to copy them again and again on multiple level as they are just texts.
@CiTools5 ай бұрын
thanks for your comment - i'm seeing a few more requests for the tool to have built-in annotation like you're suggesting here, so it's definitely something we'll look into. Aside from the Downpipe, what else would you want to be able to label or otherwise annotate?

hi - yes, we have had a lot of questions recently about how to use the electrical tool, so this webinar covered the same ground as a previous one. WRT your question earlier about the load calculation, that's not something the tool is intended to do, and not something i've seen much demand for (your comment is the first, in fact), but I have added your feedback to our development board, and if we see signs that it may be of interest to more people, we may look into it in future

@CiTools9 ай бұрын
There isn't currently, but it's certainly something we can look into. Would something that worked similarly to the way the "Place Wall Frames" function in the video does do the trick, do you think? Or are there additional considerations it would need to make?
@gerardofaustin81569 ай бұрын
@@CiTools in developing such a tool one would have to consider giving it the dynamic features like the roof wizard, which would allow the floor framing to be adjusted in certain areas and members being labeled. In addition all the framing should also automatically be generated in a table with a cut list. Looking into the ability of sizing certain errors for reinforcement would also give structural engineers, the opportunity to dive deeper into ArchiCAD them to do more framing work. Add in brackets frames and all the additional support would be a plus if possible I know this would be a complex code system, but it also must be dynamic and reflect in the schedule. If an opening is introduced it should be able to calculate the necessary support structure. This is just a summary of what I think it should work like I have an entire written paragraph on how we should function and what the outputs should be.
