I spin this album constantly.... So glad to have stumbled on it. Got it for the Retarted Elf tracks but i think my favorite are from DoDat!!! Wish i could find more songs by them.

Thank you for sharing. The Urge was a force! I have never been to another live concert with the energy that they moved through the crowd. The band as a whole was in sync with each other, so powerful!

Those otherworldly organ sounds have a somewhat spooky and creepy effect on me (thanks to the use of Fats-Waller-organ music in the creepiest movie ever, "Eraserhead" from David Lynch). This is underlined by the permanent smile and mysterious expression of K.P. who never speaks a word! His smiling face seeems to hide some dark mysteries! All that makes it even more fascinating to me! A perfect soundtrack for Halloween!😱

This is my great uncle. Black man from Missouri. First black man to have his own TV show. His father was The Reverend Ernest Redd from Missouri. He was a pastor in L.A. at Trinity Baptist Church. His nephew by marriage was the legendary jazz drummer, Bili Higgins. His nephew by blood, Bili Thedford Redd, my father is a grammy winning gospel singer, who also played with Minnie Ripperton, Bozz Scaggs, Diana Ross, etc... I am also a singer and musician. Apparently, it's in the blood!

I've never heard this recording, and I was there. DH and I were "smoking" buddies back then so I had a lot of access. And yes, I'm fucking old. I saw them at least 40 times and my body knows the score... I bought "Frankenchrist" at Rough Trade on it's release date. I love how they are pimping it so hard. The most energetic of shows...
