Forgot to include the price of the 1/2 milwaukee impact $400 3/8 impact $250 with battery, jack $200 looks like you spent a hell of a lot more than $100.

Any apprentice mechanic could replace rear brake pads in 20 minutes at a cost of less than $100.

I bought a newer bi-directional scanner for my Gen1 Ridgeline and it doesn't give me the ability to read emission monitors or I/M readiness. I am able to see these on my Toyota so i know it's not the scanner. Are you able to see monitors on your Honda using this scanner?

Yes $100 in parts and I would do the same instead of paying over 500 dollars for a pair of brakes, but then again I have bought hundreds of dollars in tools, the Daytona jack is like 200, impact, wrenches , grease, cleaning tools, brush, brake clean, sockets, jack stands, torque wrench, mallet, hammer, brake caliper tool, torx bits if the rotor has those annoying screw, and if you live in the rust belt a torch, WD-40, impact sockets not chrome ones, im no mechanic but almost every car is similar yet very different from old Toyota RAV4 to difficult newer ford fusions which you have to enter brake service mode or else you can damage the caliper.

That’s pretty normal I bet you the oem Toyota brakes are about $450 then most dealers charge $250 ish per axle for labor

And the job took what like 1 hour with 4 tools probably and they acted like you need to pull the engine out and crack it open. I’m never taking my car in again. I’ve just been acquiring tools everytime a job needs to be done I now own those tools should I have to work that job again or help someone else.

lol damn they got you too. They probably put on the worse cheapest parts they could find compared to the original set you had on too. As well as not cleaning or greasing the parts so it makes noise when you leave. I do my own work.

good vid. just remember those cheap, less than a hundred dollar rotors and pads are cheap because the rotors are made from recycled shopping carts and coat hangers! they are cheap for a reason! invest in quality parts. You ARE saving money on labor.

Usually, the high prices for rear brakes comes from vehicle vehicles that still have drums in the rear, probably 80% of people would never do that particular type of repair
