Euc is gnarr. Have a lot here in the desert of SoCal. Any tips or recommendations for cutting it? Thanks
@polyanthemos3 жыл бұрын
David, what sort of Euc is it mate? Some of the hardwoods are quite hard. Best I can offer is use a sharp chain (yeah I know!). Decent sized saw, bar no longer than required. Keep the chain sharp. Give the chain a sharpen every ute load (6x4). Dont cut long lengths. You struggle to split it unless you have a good splitter. We have some of the best firewood species in our eucs. Id be interested to know what you have got there mate.
@davidwyby3 жыл бұрын
@@polyanthemos check out my vids, what we have looks like what you’re cutting. Big n red. I think we have a couple different varieties but I haven’t learned how to ID them. They are all big. Mostly growing up in forks from a big short trunk low.
@davidwyby3 жыл бұрын
It seems to me square ground chain hold sharpness better but is harder to sharpen.

What is the mirror you’ve got there Al?
@polyanthemos5 жыл бұрын
Steve Halslavik92 its a bar end mirror off Ebay. I have them on all my bikes being so good. The cap/clamp over the bars holding the brake master is replaced with one off Ebay which has a thread in it which this mirror is screwed to. Vibration free and clear view. In the event of a fall etc, its not done up so tight so it folds instead of injuring.

What did you do to that saw ? I've got a 365 special with a 52mm big bore could it be made to go the same ?
@polyanthemos6 жыл бұрын
Hi TAA. This saw runs a Stihl piston and one ring where I had to fit a pin central. I used a drill bit as a pin. You can still use the Stihl 064 Meteor piston, just don’t worry about doing the one ring mod. You’ll have to machine down the crown in only so far to clear the squish band. Not a hard mod. Don’t run a base gasket. Use fuel resistant silastic but use as little as possible as the excess will be squished into the crank. You don’t want that. Then there is all the port work mostly on the exhaust port and transfers. If you go on Arboristsite in chainsaw and search you’ll find my posts on modding this saw and others.
