So... The police arrest the parents for doing illegal genetic experiments (I assume that's the reason) on their kids and leave the mutated children alone in the house to fend for themselves? Maybe its like Pokemon and if you're 10 years old that's good enough to explore the world and fend for yourself; only in this case the kids are also the pokemon?
