His strumming technique is out of this world. Such a wonderful artist that I only discovered quite recently thanks to KZbin recommendations.

I’m my opinion. Roy Clark is the godfather of metal. He showed up drunk, told everyone he was playing what he wanted to play and fingerpicked until the break down.

1st time I heard this song, there was a DJ playing it at a Tough Mudder” event and there where just a half dozen beautiful sisters dancing to it in the field in front of everyone. I was a fan day one.

Roy is amazing with the pick. Everyone else who plays the malaguena uses finger style, Roy is one of the only people I noticed to have used a pick during the performance.

As I only knew him as a character in movies, I could not know what kind of a man he was in real life. But in the movies, he was a man's man right up there with Sean Connery who played with him in From Russia With Love. I saw that movie in 1964 and it was the first time I'd ever seen either of them. The fight scene on the train was unlike anything I'd ever seen from Hollywood. They seemed to be genuinely determined to kill each other. It's a shame he died so young. He looked so healthy. Smokes and booze together are apparently particularly deadly.

Roy could play any style. Flamenco with a pick and so musical.
Good thing roy played a guitar cause he put on a set of boxing gloves Ali would of had problems

Who would have known! Roy Clark, I used to watch him on Her Haw. Only played soft country western. They should have let him play that way on the show, or he should have had his own show. Bravo Roy Clark. 🌹🌹🌹

I’m old enough to recall seeing this when it first aired and our family was just gobsmacked. Another unexpected superb classical guitarist - Charo. Yes, the cootchie-cootchie lady. Bits like this remind me how much superb music used to be on TV. Every night there was a variety show, a special, or surprise moments like this. That goodness for KZbin.

I remember him in the movies The Sting and Jaws. He was brilliant in Jaws, probably should have won an Oscar for his performance in that movie. It's sad he passed away so young.

As a kid growing up in the 80s, Mr. Clark was taboo! Hee Haw and all the stigma associated. His sheer talent, I believe, many have never been exposed to. Clearly a specialist in his abilities and talents!!!

This mans right hand technique is Django level. And this is the Acid test that shows a guitarists worth. No electric enhancer gizmos to hide behind no backing band to cover you if you stumble. Just you a wooden box 6 strings an an audience to entertain. And he blew the roof off
