This scene never made sense to me. Why does he think she'll be happy to see him? Why does he look sad and confused when she doesn't want to talk to him? Is he that slow?? Sometimes I feel like the writers made Sam look incapable of understanding her in the later seasons and it doesn't make sense considering he was her rock in the first 2.

Because in the previous episode Sam told Andy Marlo was 4 months pregnant with his baby and obviously Andy wasn't the most pleased about it

He doesn't think she'll be happy to see him. He loves her and just wants to talk to her. He doesn't want her to walk away again. He understands how hard it is for her. He knows she's hurting, he just doesn't wanna lose her. Just my two cents.
