I know you probably get tired of hearing this, but...so nice to hear an ACTUAL contralto, rather than all the mezzos and dramatic sopranos pushing their voices down. Your voice is clear, relaxed and natural, with a real chest voice. Reminds me a bit of Maureen Forrester.

Is this a recital performance with piano accompaniment of the entire scene? I can't quite figure out why else you would have a Euridice in your lap when performing this in recital style. The recital where I remember this song didn't bother with Euridice.

I came to know Jess' voice through a Mahler song and "Cara sposa" is, in many ways, more difficult: there are no thick harmonies to hide (or distract from) poor singing, and it's hard to "sell" a fairly routine oh-poor-me text for 9 mins. But she does it! ♥

A voice that is really of very high quality, much that is lost in todays Mosquito's, good luck to the young lady, my grandfather sang in the Chorus of Covent Garden as a leading Tenor from 1909 till 1940, he performed with Schumann Heink, Ober, Leisner, Kirkby Lunn, Homer, not forgetting Clara Butt and Liela Megane and Dozens of others, I am sure he would have loved to have sung with this Lady, Beautiful voice and phrasing, , what is she doing now? The voice has matured magnificently sense you two posted Du Bist die Ruh. Again , seamless connection of voice and accompaniment. Both of you outstanding virtuosos! Bravi Bravi!! This song was first sung by Annie Morgan in murphy, nc in 1933 Annie s father was a minister they were living destitute In their car on the square in Murphy, Annie s mother was washing their clothes in the fountain in the roundabout. As John was talking with Annie s father she stepped out of the car and started singing I wonder as I wander and he said she was singing with a smile he then said I will give you a quarter each time you sing it until I get it written down he gave her seven quarters and it was amazing there was a revival in process in the town and the police had received complaints for them to leave now with $ 1.75 and gas 13.9 cents a gallon they could leave

Chestvoice is still a bit weak and undeveloped. It needs to get more integrated into the middle which would increase the clarity. Now the voice is too woofy because of this. The basic voice is good.

Well diagnosed. This was recorded in 2022 and I’ve been working on these precise points. Hope to upload some new content soon and perhaps you’ll enjoy the results more. Thank you for your opinion.
