Nice vid! I'm on my 3rd run of Shochu as I type. This is being distilled a second time, and I included bananas in the fermentation. It's an excellent spirit to make; with the right setup, so much easier to make than bourbon, and easy to experiment with. I tried 25% oats last run, great added body, but I wouldn't recommend more than 10% due to flavor and poor fermentability. Based in NZ, so nothing illegal going on, haha.

very very interesting. I was not familiar with the 2020 vintage either in Burgundy or Bordeaux although I remember (I live in France) it was very hot and dry. If you look around the web, the first thing the vignerons say about the vintage is that it is "Fresh". That means thet exactly the reverse is the case as the vignerons are desperate that the vintage not have the reputation as being a 15% stew. To do that, they need to promote the idea of acid being present, i.e. "freshness". A mid august vendage is very early, done to save any semblance of balance. Now, all that said, I tried tha Arlaud Gevery Chambertin 2020 in half bottle and it was stunning. It is "just" a villages wine but the power and concentration was very very impressive. The smell of autumn fruit (Blackberry) was almost overpowering. Make no mistake, it was delicous, but this a terminator of a wine, surey a product of global warming? Now, I did try, at the same meal, a glass of the 2020 Faively Gevery Chambertin (also villages) which was much, much more restrained and quite closed. The colour was full but not as concentrated. It left me a bit perplexed. I cannot argue with the pleasure bomb that is the Arlaud GC though. It's almost like a wine from . . . Oregon . . . wherever that is.
