Real Madrid’s attack has the potential to be one of Europe’s most dangerous, but it needs balance. By clearly defining the roles of Vinícius, Mbappe, and Bellingham. Also, they need to drop Rodrygo and go back to the system they used last season which addressed the striker position, and leveraged the creativity of their midfield

1. I’m not sure I would call that PSG squad too “loaded” for Mbappe 😅 2. It’s more so about his positioning and play style at Madrid. He was never going to be able to have the same freedom that he did at PSG, and the rest of the Madrid squad are also seemingly struggling to find where they should be on the pitch when he’s on the attack. Except Valverde, he’s just hanging out on right banging in goals

Definitely! I think that press conference where Pep said that came out either the exact same day or the day before we recorded that episode, so I was going off of the information that really came to at the end of last season. That’s the issue with any sort of broadcasting or journalism: you’re almost never caught up!

We try very much to create a scaled rating that’s representative of both overall performance AND expectation of the clubs. So a high profile club can be below a smaller club if the smaller club is wildly exceeding their expectations! And a high profile club that is just “getting by” can slip out of our top ten if they’re not seeming to play that convincingly. That said, only Julian had his ratings on that episode. Jordon didn’t give his because he forgot to put them together 😅 I’m sure he would’ve disagreed somewhat

Lionel Messi is not the greatest player of all time. He is a great player of our generation, but not the greatest of all time. Messi only played for one team from the age of 1617 until he retired to go play for PSG. Messi never tracked back to help in defense. But was always standing somewhere in the middle and doing his thing. He only affects play when he has the ball that is not a sign of a grade or greatest player of all time. Obviously, I hate him because I bleed blue. I will never forget what he did to Ascio del Uno in a champions league game at Stamford bridge
