It’s a false depiction of working offshore, since 1975 worked offshore around the world. Money was good 80’ - 90’ then stagnated & in some cases rates reduced. The only country I found treated everybody equally has been Denmark & Norway. If not a company man She’ll BP, ONGC, Pemex you are treated as a third class citizen. I have stayed in accommodation more like dormitories 16 men to a room, changed rooms every day. I’ve had money & clothing stolen. Food company men first, then contractors followed by vendors. I worked for a GT (gas turbine) supplier during commissioning they want availability 24 hrs a day a week. My last job offshore Shell Russia, same old, same old multiple changes in accommodation, last to eat & 24 hr. Over as the company men were incompetent.
