Amazes me how many Anglers speed up their retrieve in the last few yards, to get the lure out again. I've had more Pike in the last 10 yds of the retrieve than anything else. (not implying you are, just an observation)

Get your pliers and make the hooks on the frog more proud, it won't be as weedless but the hook up rate quadruples! I had five out of the BOP in under two hours the other day on topwaters which included the savage gear frog :-)

Subscribed Kev! Lovely fish, looked very like the 13lb 11oz I got a few weeks ago, (might’ve even been the same fish😮), fat and wide. Think your 12-14 guesstimate is about spot on. Don’t they always smash it as soon as you turn the camera off?😂

That Pike was a proper beast and with them being in dark water the colours are very nice.

Yes mate pike only recently started getting caught in this water and I’ve had some around the 15lb mark so another couple of years wel have a very good pike water on our hands I think 🎣

@@tightlinesuk2024 For sure and there's now a good food chain in the reservoir due to all the introduced species. Years ago there was only trout and an occasional grayling but there were fishermen's tales of their trout being taken by pike which weren't believed by most people until the pike started to be caught. Best of luck next time you're out and I may even see you one day as I regularly cycle around the reservoir (I live further down the valley). Upon talking to anglers I generally tell them "I have no idea how the pike got into the reservoir" (the above statement may not be true, lol)
